I've thought about taking it of, but every time I get out the heat gun and start working on it a blacked out suburban with guys in suits and sunglasses drives by really slow.

So you got extra leafs installed, and it reduced your carrying capacity. America is screwed. Billion dollar companies are run by idiots.

Same thing happened to me when I pulled off the tags from my pillows.

Also I saw the same sticker, and just had to laugh. What lawyer was behind this, and did his brother-in-law have the decal contract?

My thoughts exactly. How did this idea get started? Somebody, somewhere felt like it was enough of a liability that it just had to be mentioned or something very bad could happen.

I hope the use a light weight material when they produce these stickers so that it is not made worse by applying them.

Think I've seen this on a truck that had the High pressure fuel pump changed out.

They have to add the sticker by federal regulation bc if some idiot decides to load the truck up and for whatever reason it’s even 1 pound over the truck capacity and the truck breaks then said idiot would go and sue Toyota bc they didn’t say the truck couldn’t hold that 1 pound that it’s suppose to be able to hold. That sticker is basically the same as the “caution the hot coffee is hot” label on McDonald’s coffee cups.

Mine has the exact same sticker, it's due to the floor liners I believe. Kinda silly for accessories like that, but if you got a truck with side steps, bedmat, bed cover, divider, etc. It could easily add up to a couple hundred pounds.

Who has ever weighed the payload and decided that they'll reduce it by 2 lbs to be safe? I'm sure that I've overloaded my truck many times for short distances. This stupid sticker is because Toyota needs to protect themselves from some d-bag lawyer that would sue them if someone overloaded it and died. Also, the 4 leaf spring upgrade TSB is categorized as improving the ride and not increase payload.

It just means your trans has the proper amount of ATF.

My 2018 has the exact same sticker with a different VIN of course. I put it on my rolling tool chest and it has become a topic of conversation more than a few times.

You guys joke, but these trucks have very low payload to start with. My door sticker says 1000 lbs max and that's before any passengers. Guess every pound counts.

My '13 5 lug has one too.

    But it's for 1lb.

Would have likely been 2lbs also, but I got a discount for having 4 less lugs.
