Ordered Paint and supplies from Automotive Touchup to paint the engine cover. Ordered Hood Strut rod kit from Red Line Tuning will help this old coot open the hood easier. Why in wold didn't Toyota put it on as standard equipment? Didn't like it on the my 02 and hate it on the 10. Looking into upgrading the Audio System later this summer. No big heavy mechanical mods on this truck been doing this stuff since I was 16 and after 60 years of it the body says NO.

    Tonight's achievements:
    1. Diff breather mod (routed behind driver's side trail light).
    2. Exhaust chop.
    3. Massaged metal to stuff my 33" spare up.
    4. Removed wife's crossbars/basket, and put my new-to-me 78" bars on.
...didn't get around to the TC bed stiffeners, but that'll be next; will also need to modify the bed extender to work with them.

I also picked up a piece of metal to fab my curcuit breaker / fuse box mount. Will look into that soon.

    Here's a pic dump:

I didn't. I didn't even think to. I'm a first timer with self-performed maintenance, so learning is occurring.

Wait just a minute, that front 'brush guard' should not have a 2 inch receiver in it, you can not tow the truck behind an RV on that receiver or use it for anything, its only mounted to 2 bolts waaaayyy down below.

Why does that 'brush guard' have a receiver in it?

    I am the confused.

For mounting a surf rod holder? Looks like it might have brackets that go through the lower grill along with the bottom brackets that go under the bumper.

Installed a Pop N Lock this morning. I Fluid Filmed the crap out of it before closing up the tailgate to prevent the infamous corrosion. Hopefully it lasts. Now I have peace of mind keeping things in the bed of my truck.

Pulled my Shittybuilt to drop off for warranty work. Preferably a swap for new, as there are two primary issues. The solenoid arced out, and the cast aluminum bracket for solenoid/electrical box broke. The arc could be related to broken brackets if it is part of the grounding process. I’m guessing, as my skills in that department are lacking.

It was suggested that I should exercise the unit periodically, rather than let it sit for long stretches.
