I don't even want to look at how much I spent... but I was also starting from scratch and I'm not just preparing for this one trip - the 2019 goal is a month off driving across the US

Happy Twofer Tuesday! Twice the headaches; twice the fun! Twice the beers when I get done!

Today the headunit in the F-150 started being uncooperative. Pretty much nothing works except volume and settings. Found the force reboot procedure for it, I'll have to try that next time I go out to the truck. I'm not too alarmed unless that doesn't fix it since even the aftermarket Kenwood one I had in the Tacoma would do crazy things occasionally.

Just as I was thinking the OEM system was surprisingly good!

shit just freaks out sometimes. It's one reason I would hesitate to buy a car where hvac and other things are done through a touch screen rather than knobs and buttons.

My HVAC is still knobs and buttons, but they're still digitized in some way. The remote start can take control of it for heating or cooling.

The Entune system in my 2016 is utter garbage... I'm constantly needing to disconnect/reconnect my phone, sometimes I need to turn the truck off at a stop light before it'll connect. If a new H/U with android auto wasn't so expensive...

I see. Well knobs beat messing around with a touch screen I suppose!

It's part of the reason I didn't buy a Tundra. I wanted Android Auto.

Entune just sucks. It has never been able to read my texts out loud and 75% of the time when I'm playing music on spotify on my phone it doesn't display the artist/song.

I'm waiting for wireless Android Auto and then will get a new headunit. IMO it'd be worth the cost.

I'm pretty content with my single-din non-cd bluetooth kenwood. But I was in my friend's new crosstrek which has apple carplay....expensive thoughts have been running through my mind.

I have the same issues with entune. I don't even want the texts to be read to me, i just want the music to play! There are multiple options with wireless Android auto these days

The entune system is junk, if I could buy again, I would tell them to take it out.

Oh, for some reason I had thought wireless wasn't going to be released until the end of this year. I had looked into it at the beginning of this year. Going to have to look into some of them...

My GMC system with android auto is awesome. Works great. I didn't know they were making a wireless version, that would be a huge improvement.
