Has anyone done anything to the lower valence on the front bumper by either plasti dipping or wrapping it? I have a Sport model so mine is color matched to the truck but I want to have it be black. Just wanting some feedback/info on the easiest and best route.

    Thanks!

I think most on here have it black from factory and probably a lot of them have also just removed it...looks better, I have not done this yet but when I get new tires I will probably be removing it.

Valance or air dam? Either way another option would be Bed liner like Line-X. Would be a little more abrasion resistant.

Mine is plasti dipped. Been that way for well over a year and still looks like the day I sprayed it.

Could be by "valance" the OP means the chin and not the chin strap?? Can remove that (pretty easy) and paint or plasti-dip derp what ever.... and good to go look like OR now.

Lower valance. The air dam has been removed long ago, the minute it got home from the lot. And it would be but it might offset the color scheme due to material.

Only the off-road trim comes with the lower valence in black, none of the sport models do. I’ve thought about removing it but it looks too..odd:notsure:

Air dam was removed the minute it rolled into my driveway from the lot.

Yes I’m referring to the lower bumper. I’m planning on derping it but wanting to see pictures or feedback before I do so.

you can buy a black plastic one online for 130 and maybe sell your original. be careful removing though. there are two slide clips that must be removed before you can pop out the valance. if you don't, it will snap the clips on the valence and it will not reinstall very well.

I’m trying to go the least expensive route:D
I’ll be buying a hybrid front bumper probably by the end of the year so I’m just looking to do a little something before then.

Just plasti dip it. It's like $16 and if you don't like it it comes off. Just do your best to get it extremely clean first, prep work is crucial for plasti-dip. My wheels have been going strong for over a year (minus abuse from new tires)

Probably the route I’m going to take. I did my badges and they seem t be fine so it shouldn’t be too shabby! Thanks!

I would wrap it if it were mine. You'd get a consistent finish and it'd be easy since its a basic shape. Enough vinyl for that would probably only cost 30-40.

I’m going to contact a local shop that does car wraps and see how much they charge. I’ve never done it and would rather fork out an extra $20-$40 for it to be done professionally and correctly. I’m curious if I should do matte or gloss however.

    Not enough to list
Get a company to clear bra the front of your truck. Well worth the cost. Should do it immediately after purchasing it.
