Same here along with new gutters and 9 new windows. Never seen roof vents beat so bad from one storm either. I should put concrete tile up there this time.

So much for my suspension upgrade in 2018...

Dose nobody carry insurance? Sure it sucks, and I feel your pain. We had to go $30K+ in home repairs from our hailstorm 2 years ago. BUT, premiums aren't going to go up due to catastrophe events like that. The shitty part is finding a reputable roofer, body shop, etc...but otherwise that is why we pay in and pay in and pay in and...for those times when we need them to pay out.

Still a $1,000 deductible for wind and hail. That's Tacoma upgrade money.

My insurance and others raised roof deductibles to $2k after last year's storms

Most insurance companies just deduct that from the check they write you, and if you get a good adjuster, he/she will make the amount enough where things all "work out", if you know what I mean. because there is surely more than just a roof to repair. A shed, grill, deck, fencing, hot tub cover, ceramic planters...the list goes on. A lot of those things can be tossed under the rug for now like a fence or, hell, I still cook on my dented grill.

Like I said, I know it sucks, but they have ways of helping you too.

Good point, but I usually end up using that money for other home upgrades not being covered by insurance like an external beer tap ;)

    I do have insurance.

My deductible for my roof is $1600.

I’d rather not spend that much money on a roof that was essentially new just yesterday.

And rates always go up in storms like this. Insurance companies don’t want to lose on profits so they raise the rates of everyone’s policies in the general area of where they’re paying out the most claims.

My auto insurance has gone up a lot due to storms in yesteryears even though I’ve never filed a single claim.

I get it, and I am sorry for your debacle. Not trying to give you a hard time...make them mark everything possible, to make your reimbursement as much as possible, and have the roofers come out in October (after the crazy shit weather season). And hopefully the amount you eat isn't as much. When we had ours a couple years ago, the adjuster had a looooooong list of things, and we didn't necessarily repair everything on that list. Structure, yes...I am building a deck this fall, so that was added in the estimate, but not repaired.

Well after further inspection I have found 1 dent on the hood. Going to try the old can of duster and heat gun trick to see if it will pop out.
