^ This guy gets it. The paperwork has the VIN listed. You can easily do a VIN search and it will tell you what came out of the factory.

It will have 0% change of being a Sport Off Road.

Did you buy this new or used? I think we would all really like to know what dealer (city and state) this came from. Make sure you put a clear complaint with the BBB with the other avenues you are taking. Need to protect the next guy! Sad story. I am wondering if it was in a wreck and they decided to do this from the body shop.

 

Well I would ALSO verify the VIN on the truck matches the paperwork. Because based on what we are seeing here, this could be misleading in many ways.

Original buyer purchased an SR5. Made cosmetic mods. Traded it in (to probably not a Toyota dealership for all we know).

 

Yep, have seen this many a times before, same as when you see all the used one's listed as PROs that have a few mods, etc. Gotta do your homework, unfortunate none the less though.

 

Yup, if this was a second hand lot, they probably didn't even know themselves, just went off the sticker. The original owner probably got a great "deal" when he sold it
