Kicker speaker upgrade problem

Recently ordered front and back kicker cs 6.5 and 6x9 speakers. They worked great for about a week and now my speakers will randomly cut out or go completely dead and then come back. No and and factory head unit. 2017 Tacoma premium audio . No jbl. You guys got any ideas?

Sorry I meant to add that it seems as though when I go past 35 is when they start acting up.

 

Dumb question....but 35 on the volume or 35mph ?

 

Clipping? If they start sounding bad after 35 try tuning the bass out of them. Or are they just totally cutting out

But would that cause all the speakers to cut out?

 

Tune the bass out. A midrange is designed to play mid range. Not low range. Turn the bass all the way down and then turn your volume up to your personal max volume you ever want to listen to music. Then adjust the bass up from there.

 

Potentially. Almost everytime ive ever had funky shit happening it was my wiring.

 

Weird. When I tuned my amp, non-amplified clipping didn't occur even at 65. I was using a Nano Oscilascope. That is with the non JBL premium Entune.

 

My fiances nissan sentra does a weird thing if your playing too much bass itll dim down the volume like 80 percent and build back up. Might be your radio doing a toyota version.

 

Used the connectors that crutchfield sent with the purchase and it worked fine for a week or so without issue.

If it's fine at lower volumes then you're asking your amp (in the head unit) to make more power than it can. As mentioned earlier, turn the bass down until it stops. It requires a lot more power to make bass than it does to make higher frequencies. That may be sending your 'amp' into a pseudo-protect mode. You're only going to get so much power out of a factory head unit. To get louder, you're going to need more power.

Ok put the the factory speakers back in and took it in today to the dealership. Still had my sub and amp for sub in. They said that it could be the issue and that I need to remove it and bring it back. The service advisor stated that I should open up a case with Toyota care because it is a grey area since I have an aftermarket parts hooked up that they might try to deny it. What are your thoughts? The sub has been in for over a year and I don't see how that could be involved other than it is receiving a signal from the head unit.

 

Did you end up turning the bass down and trying?
