Im reality though what is getting me, the impact didnt loosen them. I slid my hilift handle over a driver and did it that way. They broke under my power, not the impact.

They are the stupid spline kind and there is about 1/32" of spline left to get onto. If they didnt come out they way I did it, I dont see them coming out now.

I've done the socket thing with locks when the key was lost but I used a 12pt slightly smaller so the 12 teeth would bite in. It works but sometimes the socket splits.

I can try the hammer and socket approach. The spline socket that I have is an impact type that I talked the tire shop into giving me since it is 1/2" drive and the one that came with the set had a hex head on the end. Since I have two now, I will try beating them onto whats left of the nut and see if it works. Although two of them might be past that point now.

    Nor will I now.

The broken nuts look like cast aluminum though. Shit.

Plus if one has aluminum threads and the other steel they can seize due to dissimilar metals and heat.

All I had was bar lube for my chainsaw. Was working well, just not the best bits to begin with.
