Welcome, being from AZ im going out on a limb that you enjoy shooting sports?
Im working on a day to have some guys over to shoot in August/September.

I only own 4 firearms right now. My dad will be holding on to them until I find a place in VA. I'll be staying with my brother on Capitol Hill until I get my own place and I'm not interested in dealing with the gun BS in DC.

Are you still active duty? Getting a CCW in VA is stupid easy if you're interested in that. Just fill out the application, pay $50, and show them your orders. Easy peezy.

 

You mean you don't want to be a felon for possessing a single round of ammunition? It goes beyond BS.

 

All I have is my 9mm I love shooting long arms as well but just don't own any.

I'm only active duty until August 9th, 72 days of terminal leave is amazing. My orders are just separation orders. I should have just got my license in AZ, it's similar to VA, just the application and fee... and I think they want to see my weapons qual documentation.

I'm worried that I may have a loose round somewhere in my truck. I know my Tacoma had a bunch of old .22 rounds under the carpet. Hopefully Rojo doesn't. (Rojo is my red 80 Series, pronounced Ro-Joe because I'm a gringo)

 

Damn that's nice. Did you retire or just getting out? And I thought in AZ you don't need a permit of any kind?

 

As it sits as of today, the 2 dead oak trees leaning to the left will become part of the backstop.

 

I'm getting out after 10.5 years for higher pay and more advancement opportunities. Within 12 months I'll be promoting from E-5 to GS-11 which is pretty substantial.
That's why I never got a permit in AZ, I didn't need it. I carried all the time in AZ, either my Glock 42 or my 1911.

 

Nice, congrats! That's a great bump. I'll be getting out at 7.5 years as well. Only 9 more months to go.

 

Hopefully you have been setting yourself up for a career after the military. I've run into far too many people who were getting out with absolutely no plan and very few prospects. I got lucky, I'm in a field that has plenty of openings in the $85k+ range for people with my experience and qualifications.

 

Oh I am. My wife is an Air force officer doctor That's why I'm getting out, because colocation is a pain in the ass.
