Sounds like you'll be just fine. My wife is going to be an ex-wife here in a few months. So I'll be starting a new job in a new place, with more money, and single... and an FZJ80, which everyone knows is the ultimate chick magnet.

I'm ready for a fresh start. I have friends from former units and my brother in the DC area, so I'll have familiar faces too.

 

That always makes a new place 100x better. And now you'll have some TW family! I've made quite a few friends from TW.

Once I buy a place I plan on hosting mod days and gatherings... assuming I can find something with a garage and room to park more than 1.5 trucks. Ideally I'd get a place with room to build a real workshop with a 2 post lift for suspension work.

 

If you got a two post lift installed, you'd become best friends with a lot of people haha they're so damn handy

It would save me a lot of money over a few years (weeks really). I have only replaced my springs and shocks, I still need to beef up the links, panhards, radius arms, bushings, caster correction... the list is very long.... and my knuckles need to be rebuilt.

@02YotaGuy any idea where you'll be moving? I vote Loudoun. It's relatively cheap. Not cheap cheap, but cheap compared to areas closer in to DC.

I don't like beer at all... I'm a rum addict though. I brought 8 bottles of rum back from my trip to Colombia. I also have Cuban cigars... ask the AZTW crew... they've smoked $700 worth.

I'll be working in Sprinfield, but I may be working in McLean at some point in the future. I don't mind a little bit of a drive, but I'm used to a 14 minute commute, so 45+ would take some adjustment. I'm planning on just getting an apartment or something for the first year since I can't buy right now. The ex would get half of it because the divorce isn't final yet.

 

Ah, yes. Good plan. My brother works in McLean and commutes from Leesburg, and I can tell you it sucks. 45 minutes is a great day, 60 is good.

 

That'd be great for my car, but I don't think that'd even get my tires off the ground.

I'm in Dallas at my parents place, so I'm only 1 hour behind today. I'm flying back to Tucson tomorrow night to take care of some business on Thursday.
I've been looking at houses in VA... I'm going to miss Tucson real estate prices. My 4/2.5 was only $126K and my 3/2 was $134k. I can't hardly find a lot at those prices.
