true. however on my win 10 laptop i only use defender and left all the settings in place including updating and simply disabled the real time monitoring. no issues.

it helps to have wifi so you can be on tw while you flash.

The M/T has this problem too, although I'd imagine to a lesser extent. Worse on the stock tune, that's for sure.

Figured it out. Looks like Avast was blocking it, but I'm also a dumbass and didn't have the Tactrix drivers installed... :bananadead:

Thanks for the quick replies people. I got the info to Matt. Hopefully he can get back to me today so I can test it out!

Win7 will work fine. Win10 will do nothing different.

This is really sad. A 40k truck and this is what we get out of it? I wouldn't expect this.

If you wanted a Raptor, Ford would have sold you one. If you wanted fast at a comparable price, I heartily recommend a Subaru WRX (or the Forester XT, which has the same engine). If you wanted a fast mid-sized Toyota truck, you could have gotten an XRunner for less than half the cost of a 3rd gen and spent the rest on a supercharger. You don’t like your truck? Sell it and buy one you do.

The wonky performance of the stock tune was immediately obvious on the test drive, so it’s not like you didn’t have a chance to realize the downsides. TW was almost immediately inundated with “wtf is wrong with this engine” threads, so the research was out there. If you couldn’t be arsed to do some research before shelling out your $40k, that’s your own lookout.

Yes I understand. But why are people getting the OVTUNE then? Not happy how the engine perform?

Unsatisfied with stock tune regarding engine and trans, as an over-generalization

Very happy with the tune overall (1.04 91 octane). My daily commute is 14 miles one way consisting of 25% city driving and 75% highway cruising - I went from 17-18 mpg to 21-22 mpg on my particular work commute and a large overall increase in responsiveness which makes driving it easier.

I don't know anything. I just bought the truck in April and expect it to ride like how any other of my vehicles I've own.

Yeah the expanded atkinson mode along with the torque converter stuff has made a huge difference in my MPGs as well... My commute used to net be about a 16mpgs which is a lot of stop and go, some open highway, lots of redlights, etc., I'm getting 19-20 most trips now and literally every morning at some point I can't help but smile at how smooth and responsive the truck is.

I'm looking forward to seeing what 1.05 has in store without a doubt but after 4k miles on 1.04 it's settled in very nicely so I'm in no hurry!!!
