Unfortunately no.. this is the kind of question Men ask when they grow up playing video games versus learning how to work on their vehicles. In another 50 years there wont be anyone left who can even pull a dipstick and check their own oil. . To the OP, no worries, you did NO catastrophic damage to your Taco.

They already don't. I had an Audi that didn't have one, you could buy the parts and install it if you REALLY wanted to though.

Hell, we don't even have transmission fluid that you can check. We are basically there...

Your right, my point was we are there, or getting there because basic human understanding of simple task and thoughts are becoming a thing of the past. Like now, if you go to the shop, if there is not a "code" to read no one knows what to do next. There are very few mechanics left, most of them are parts changers now.

Don't go down that path unless you want to be embarassed. My father and grandfather killed their meals and grew their vegetables...

I did the same at about the same miles. I initially thought it ran better, so I tried a few tanks. In the end, I lost a MPG and the better feeling either went away or wasn't there to start with. I switched back to 87 since.

Nothing harmful either way. The truck knows and adjusts.

Higher octane burns slower. This will help to reduce knocking in your engine and maybe run a tad bit smoother. That's really the only difference you will notice.

My 2.7 runs fine on 87. But I like filling it by the gallon instead of by the liter.....

I agree but the only thing I would add is that as gas gets higher in price the difference between 87 at roughly 2.80 a gallon per 91 at say 3.20 a gallon is less than 10 dollars on a 20 gallon fill up. just saying, but I always just use 87 octane anyhow and even when I had my 2011 GT 5.0, it was 412 HP at 91 octane and 402 HP using 87, couldn't really tell the difference when you have that much HP..

no issues going back & forth with gas ratings, now if you were talking about using different types of oil regularly as far as weight of the oil then you may have issues.

Whatever you do, dont put white gas in it. We tried that once with a (carbureted) econoline to make it to a gas station- it ran but knocked very badly all the way there.

And before long they'll be calling for 25k oil changes and the oil dipstick will be gone.... we already have an automatic transmission without a dipstick.... what dipsticks!

I had to do that once with my Fiat 124. I make sure to tank up before 1/4 left now.
