I got the truck used, thru an auction. he seller was a toyota dealership out of NC. It had 11,000 miles on it and is a 2017. It was advertised as a TRD off road. I got it for 27,000

A TRD OR with 11k miles, assuming no accidents would have been a lot more than $27k. At least it would around here. I don't think you're in a bad spot financially.

A quick check on nada.com says that you paid rough condition trade in value for it. Hard to say if that is a good deal, esp at auction.

Yea, he got a good price for a fancier SR5, so it's not ALL bad...

But if hes definitely expecting more out of it, then yea, he got baited without the switch.

I don't think he understood the packages like some of us do. Bottom line, he got an sr5 with a hood scoop, wheels and tires with 11k for $27k. I wouldn't see anyone nitpicking that had that been disclosed in a separate thread.

    Op enjoy your truck.

I think that was a fair price for an SR5 double cab V6 considering someone already did a hood swap. That is with a clean history and title. I would remove the OffRoad decals. It is a good lesson for anyone buying at an auction. Rule number 1 is do a complete background check using the vin. Anyone can toss on mods to make a truck appear to be something it is not. Rule 2 is research the models so you know exactly what you are buying. I think, as long as you like it, that you are fine. Ditch those decals. It will never be a TRD OffRoad.

Plus, the truck has a nice Fab Fours steel rear bumper.

If you are satisfied with the truck, that is really all that matters- don't put too much stock in anything you read here, and...

Imo, this forum is a good source of information, and also it can be fun.

If you don't take it too seriously and have a sense of humor, it will help until you get up to speed.

Just my $.02, and enjoy the truck, looks like a nice one.

Go look at the number of people in line for a hood with scoop. That alone is worth 27k.

You clearly arent up to date on your used tacoma prices. His truck would have sold for 30k at a toyota dealer as a CPO ALL DAY LONG.

    If it’s a 4wd for $27k that’s a great price... Otherwise it’s an okayyy price for 2wd
