What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I was just looking through a build thread, is the BPV relocation always needed with a lift? My trucks been lifted for 2 years now and i have never got a relocation bracket, Am I fucking something up?

 

No you're just not "using" your rear brakes as good as they could be. It's not necessary but for the $15 piece or making your own (i.e. flat piece of metal with holes drilled into it) why not?

 

Ill pick on up then! BAMF seems like the way to go

 

Save the 15 bucks, cut the rod, and zip tie it as high as possible. Those LSPV don't work half the time anyways.

Hey, how do you like your rear leafs and how much did your rear leafs run you, im looking to order something similar. My All pro expos arent cutting it. how is the +1000 lbs? i was thinking +800.

 

I've had mine stuck a few times not saying that's the reason they don't make them for a 98 through 2000 but they don't make them for those year models for some reason.

 

I would just trim off some of the floor mat near the accelerator so it can't stick. A stuck accelerator is a big safety hazard.

 

I've been really happy with the Alcans. They're a bit on the stiff side right now, but that should be fixed very soon as I add some more weight. A little over $700 for the leafs, plus ubolts and shipping.

I would highly recommend weighing your truck before taking a guess at how much capacity you need. I spec'd mine based on the weight I'll have soon, so they should be just about perfect after that.

 

Okay, ill have to get my truck weighed. I think the expos are rated for +500, I dont think im actually getting that. But I plan on adding a rear bumper soon as well. I have about +200 constant weight and the bumper will add roughly 60-80lbs, then camping gear on the weekends and sometimes trailer hitch a dirtbike.

Get your alternator checked out at Vatozone or someplace that can test it, might be on it's way out.
