Entune Voice Commands

Haven’t been able to find anything about this question and the dealer hasn’t been able to help. When I use the talk to text feature on my iPhone 7 while in my 2016 Tacoma, there is an annoying delay due to the truck’s microphone picking up that isn’t there when I just use my phone. I would like for the truck’s speakers and microphone to be used when I am making phone calls, but not while texting. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this without turning off Bluetooth every time I want to text? I would imagine that it’s an all or nothing situation, and I know that I’m being picky, but I figured that it is worth a shot.

Would be a setting in the phone not the radio, on my Android I have it set not to notify or display text but will accept calls etc...

I think there is a setting on radio. Go to phone, options. If I remember there is setting for calls and one for messages, and one for email.

 

Are you using entune talk to txt, or Siri? Siri works well for me. (Well better than entune, that doesn’t understand shit). If phone is unlocked, just press the hang-up button on your steering wheel until Siri asks to suck your dick (or some such), then dictate txt that way.

 

I have had the same experience on a 2015 Ford Taurus, 2016 Chrysler 200 (gremlin), 2016 Silverado, all work vehicles, and my 17 Taco. All with iPhones.

I think it’s all or nothing, and not just an entune issue

 

The only thing understand me is Google. All of the other cars infotainment are garbage.

 

I didn't know you could send a text through Entune - I use Siri and as usual, it hears me correctly about half the time.

 

It's all or nothing. Annoying, but at least it does work well enough (the text dictate). Entune itself sucks. I never use the voice commands. "Find a restaurant" "Finding an ATM". Cancel.
