Yes on DEF for all new diesels, built after a certain year (which I do not know that year) I am no expert, but trying to get up on all that delete lingo. supposedly you can delete the emissions BS, DEF, EGR and that stuff, which gets more power and even better MPGs. No idea on cost to do this. I would not entertain that until out of the 100K powertrain warranty, and not even sure if I would then. Buddy at my work, just got basically the same truck as that one I am eyeballing, but a 2018, he gets 20-24 MPG consistently, which blows my mind for such a big heavy truck. DEF is cheap, and dont have to put it in very often, maybe every 5,000 miles or so.

@scottalot I got the stuff to make the sauce tonight. Making a gallon so if you like it and want to take some home bring a container to take some home in of it doesn't get all used up.

So it's costly you'll need a full exhaust turbo back, egr delete kit, and then a programer with pre-set tunes for that stuff being deleted. I'd get a programer that you can custom tune and bring it up here to Rudy's diesel and have them put a good tune on it. Not sure about the newer trucks but my old 7.3 Ford I had a chip plugged into the ECU that could have up to 6 tunes so I had a stock one, towing, mpg, then 3 mild to wild all were custom tunes. Those Cummins man we can make some power. Big thing with a diesel is no high flow filers or oiled filters let's to much shit through and will destroy the impeller of the turbo. Can't tell you how many Duramax turbos ive replaced because of k&n or the like filters.S&B makes a great filter that's what I ran on my old truck. Oh and you need nitrous or ethenol injection :headbang::devil:

I’m about to be at 100k miles and will be deleting my truck. It yields more mpgs, let’s tge truck run cooler, and gives it a major boost in power. True as a personal truck you’ll barely use DEF but there’s other issues from it. Like the EGR cooler which goes bad if you don’t take out the screen filter and clean it and the EGR cooling line that cracks and drains into the exhaust and cools off so you don’t even notice till it’s a major problem. Plus I got a shop that can do the full job including a tuner for 2300$. Which is cheap

Suffice it to say my next truck will have ventilated seats. I look like I’ve pissed outta my ass after sitting in mine today even with the AC on blast. Hopefully ceramic window tint will help too.

I forgot to latch my roll up tonneau cover back in March the same day we had some bad winds. Wind caught it, pulled it off and beat it against my cab for a couple hours until I walked out of our warehouse. Scuffed the paint pretty good. Scrubbed the shit out of it a few times and couldn’t get the scuffs off.

Today I decided to try using a clay bar on it. Took some elbow grease but it came off:

The big truck will only need a safety only and most guys who do safety only don't go checking to make sure all the emissions equipment is there.

Diesel trucks don’t fall under the emissions laws. Per a dot officer

That’s why there’s no mpgs for diesel trucks listed.

They do if they are under a certain gvwr here in NC. And they have their own emission compliance laws.

My truck is registered in nc as well as the other trucks in our fleet and the deleted ones have no issues with inspections

That's because you are doing a DOT inspection which is different than the regular inspection. A personal vehicle that gets the normal inspection still has to have all the emissions equipment visually there if it isn't they can fail you. Some of the trucks though the inspection machine auto puts N/A for emissions equipment even if the vehicle has it.
