Why do you need to flash back to stock to diagnose the C.E.L.?

It isn't a recall. It is a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin). There's a pretty significant difference. A recall you will get a flier in the mail. A TSB is a secret service bulletin for a common issue. Some dealerships like to pretend these don't exist. When I had mine done on my 2016 I printed off the TSB and took it to the service counter and listed off all the issues I was having (which were all the ones listed in the TSB). They did it no questions asked at that point.

 

Mine hung up on me after i gave them the exact number on the tsb sheet... Finally got them to commit to an appointment tomorrow.

 

That's because there is no update. The folder is empty.

 

Someone who has this tune and knows the process needs to FaceTime with @Ron1965, and help this guy out.

 

1) rule out tune. The same codes come up with the stock tune this way I know that has nothing to do with it. This is actually suggested by Matt.

2) Paranoia. Next step will be to bring it to the dealer to get forensic. Not sure if they can see that I’ve flashed the truck, but at least it’ll have the stock tune when they’re diagnosing.

 

Problem is my computer will not download the Flash Manager software for some reason.When I click on the software download link nothing happens. Sent a message to Mat. Thanks for all the help guys.

 

need more information from you. Windows 10? Turned Windows Defender off, including real time protection? Turn off Firewall? Internet connected? Using another anti virus software? Using link from Instructions on page one of this thread?

 

Yep,Windows10...Defender not off.Firewall off. WiFi on.Norton off. Using link from latest instructions sent by Mat in email. It is a new computer but it works on other links just won’t open this one.

 

Defender must be off.

I didn't bring anything in. Mine just asked me if I'd "like to take care of the ecm recall" while I was there.

 

Try typing in the link in a browser. Just a couple pages back someone was saying they couldn't click the link, but if they manually type in the link it worked fine.

 

??? could be in your internet controls setting - restricting sites not recognized, or limiting access for "users" vs "administrator." I'm not a Norton fan. Caused me problems long ago. shit canned them and stuck with Defender. try the link on page one - should be the same one Mat sent, but worth trying. Feel your frustration. If you have another computer try using it and see if the link works - that will confirm it is the new computer's issue.

trying to download 1.04 91 tune from the download manager, (version 1.09) and file is blank, 0kb.
tried to find version 1.09r, failed.

can anyone readily solve my woes? perhaps with a new link?
