That durango is lucky to get 15mpg on a good day, but literally all of those shitty 5.2 magnumb engines have a intake plenum gasket failure that causes them to aspirate their own oil, killing their cats, slowing their O2s, reducing their MPG, and causing them to stumble under hard acceleration. They are coupled to the weakest TorqueFlight decendant Mopar has ever made but somehow steals more than a few ponies off the top. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets less than 15 regularly. It was supposed to get 13 city and 17 highway but you know how those figures are so, yah prolly not happening.

My LC is pretty bad too, although it is right at what was advertised

    LC MPG.jpg

The Taco somehow does okay for what it is mod wise, I see to fall right in where others with the 4cyl do despite my mods...

    V6 Taco is interesting...

I dont get any of those high numbers in my 3.4.... i get like 13-16mpg even when i was stock...
I think the 2.4 manual gets a little bit better gas mileage then the 2.7 which would make it a good commuter truck

Those numbers came from Fuelly which is real world data but often the people that give enough of a shit to track their mileage are also the ones trying to save MPG too, so likely a bit better than your average driver and likely slower.

This one is weird and makes me wonder if people are hypermiling or just don't know what engine they have...

Eh, even still I'm not letting that ruin my fun, but both arguments are good here so I'll leave it alone. I will say if you ever rode you'd take the chance too it is that much better than a car, truck, ATV, even a gal with wheels where you steer with her tits.

I'd rather not split hairs and just say everything after Ioccoca left is awful and things near the end of his reign were getting bad again.

Lets just say Chrysler is a weird company...
Look at ford vs gm those guys battle it out with well planned marketing strategys and built cars to target new uprising markets. Chrysler just said fuck that we putting the biggest engine we can in everything and hopefully that will fill all the problems.

I'm bikeless right now anyway, Harley is gone :( Gonna buy a WR450F when summer is over because I can't ride much on the streets in AZ anyway (I will die here, it is bad) so Supermoto will be more useful so I can hit some trails with it. Once back in WA, I'll resume street riding though, it was always pretty decent in Spokane area with the laws being so harsh now.

I've lunched 3 42RE trans now, there is nothing left of the mighty 727 it was based off of. The 5.2 would be fine if Chrysler never made it EFI or emissions compliant haha

They can't build an economy car anyone will buy, the big engine things aren't stuff that builds reputation because not everyone can have one.

Yeah but look at dodge new marketing plan, they lunched hell cat and demon. Both are cars that arnt practical as a daily driver, but They have drawn alot of attention to dodge and now you see alot more chargers and challenges on the road vs all the mustangs and Camaros that use to be out there

Still those are the smallest overall sales category of car. Economy cars build memories for many people on a budget, used and new. People who bought a used Camry/Tercel/Echo with 150K and ran another 100k on it will remember that and come time where they can afford a new car will go "oh yeah, that Toyota was good to me" and then go buy either a new economy car or something fancier. But the car everyone can afford to drive builds your brand, the other ones do that a bit but to a much lesser amount. Chrysler can't build an economy car people want or can afford, the 200 is a failure and priced too high, the Renegade is a failure both mechanically and from a marketing perspective, the Avenger never sold well and was received poorly... the only thing people liked in recent history were the minivans.

I agree, there isn’t really any good cars that have came out of Chrysler sense like the 60s even then they were all about big HP vs a gm or ford.
If i wanted a small reliable car i would get a Japanese car, or maybe a old volvo or vw. Nothing in the domestic world is that good especially in the economy car market.

I fall asleep at 7 PM, wake up at 4 AM and this is the first thing I see. What the actual fuck was going through their heads when they built that thing? The stock Tacoma already has the turning radius of an aircraft carrier. What’s the turning radius of that thing, the International Space Station?

Jesus Christ this thread moves quickly.

This is normal everyday traffic in the Bay Area. One hour to go roughly 10 miles.

This is the stretch of I-80 through Emeryville passing by the toll plaza of the SF Bay Bridge.

Yep, 880 580 80 interchange...about as fun as every interchange on the 405. Thats where LA has the bay area by the short hairs on the traffic argument. The span of traffic jams throughout LA into orange county. You should take BART. Way easier imo
