What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Worth every penny to secure your stuff AND prevent crackheads from stealing the tailgate.

Did you wire it up to lock/unlock with remote? I installed mine super quick before a trip last month so didn't have the time, but I want the convenience of not sticking the key in every time

 

How do I do that? Is there a thread?

Haha ohh yeah you know it. Luckily I haven't had any encounters with this truck when parking downtown or on Cap Hill (if I can even find a spot to fit).

No wiring on this one. I didn't want to have it unlock/lock everytime for daily driving & wear it down since the only time I really use the bed on the wknds or trips.

I think I've read some people wire them to unlock with the passenger door as is more common with trunk locks to avoid just such excess wear.

 

That's how mine is wired in. I have not added the safety unlock yet.

 

I just put in 19.5gal of gas... and I was worried of running it dry.... I still had 1.5 gal left!

 

Driving home yesterday my radio display started dimming like I was turning the lights on. No pattern to it, it would dim then return to normal brightness. This morning it was fine. Any ideas? 2012 TRD Sport, not the head unit with navigation.

 

Come on I'm from mn n travel about 5k forestry roads in wa n or. Some are listed as dirt bike trails but fun in my pickup. Look around my Rainier or hood. Paulina lake has some good trails. Look up overlanding Pacific nw. Planning on the glacial ridge trail from Canada to northern ca. If n only if everything goes good looks like a 2 week journey.

My 2012 Trd Sport w/o Entune Navigation headunit does the same thing on occasion. Never figured out why.

 

Glad the surgery went well and pup is doing better. That's one hell of a wound.

Ordered my Pioneer AVH-2300NEX and dash kit. I’ve been sick of the stock unit since 2008 lol

 

looks like there is a reason for it being discounted, is there a reason for why you would need that extra foot to get access to the roof on these trucks?

 

My fear would be when i forget to remove it and slam the door on it. Because that's something I would do. NO doubt about it... haha

 

Hey guys just wanting a opinion should I take the tacoma emblem off the side? And also I found that I can get new dust caps for my wheels and get black ones what do you think the chrome dust caps or black ones?
