    Too much.
Now that we know what it is you are working with, disregard the speed wire. You go direct from the amp to the speakers. Easy peasy.

Great, that is what I was hoping. Last question - the amp is 4 channels, and the HU has multiple RCA inputs in the back, do I need to run 2 sets of RCA to the amp? Or will the one set function?

Thanks a ton for your help.

There should be 6 rca outputs, 2 for front, 2 for rear and 2 for sub. If you're not running a sub, don't plug into the sub outs. If you are using fronts and rears, then you need to plug into those.

    Yeah.
If you want to be able to adjust the F/R fade, you should run 2 sets. With a 4-channel amp, I have typically bridged one side for a sub (many HU's have a single sub RCA output so you can adjust sub level). Then I run the rear speakers off the HU and front off the other side of the amp.

If you are running the amp to all 4 speakers and no sub, use 2 sets of RCA's.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I put in a set of Focal RCX-165 and ISS-165. I also did a JBL amp and audio control LCi6. It was a LOT of work to run all the wiring and get everything in (including sound deadener in all 4 doors) but the results are excellent. Super clear, no feedback, and much more oomph than factory.

I have a set of Focal's in my S2000 (just a set of fronts + tweeters as the car does not have rear speakers) with a small sub as I know the Focal's can be lacking bass. The Taco sounds pretty good as is (noticeable improvement vs stock), but I am planning on adding either a 8" or 10" sub in the back just to complete the setup and give a bit more fill. I could live with the setup as is, however.

Here is my invoice from Crutchfield. Nearly everything I bought was open box and/or on sale. I have another $60 in sound deadener, $30 in amp wiring, $40 in wire looms, and $20 in speaker wire.

OK, so I have purchased the speakers and will be going for install on Monday!!

    Subaru Tweeters
    Kicker KSC 69304 for front
    Kicker KSC 6503 for rear

    Will use factory head unit.

The question is, do I need sound deadening? Its an extra 120 for the materials and labor fee. I don't plan to amp it any further, but do occasionally like to blast the volume.

    Yeah.
What are they charging for the speaker install? This will be probably the easiest one they have ever done -- if they are charging you a standard fee, maybe that gives you some negotiating power.

What are they doing for the 120? Just around the speakers, or entire door panel? Just front, or both front and rear?

Curious to hear your impression of the K-series, not sure I've heard anyone's feedback on those yet.

They are charging $170 for the 6 speaker install.
I am not sure what you mean by the "120"??

    Yeah.
I've never paid for an install, so don't know if that is reasonable but that sounds kind of high. It only takes a couple of hours even if you take your time.

You said it would be $120 more for sound deadening. If they are doing the entire inside of front and rear doors, I'd say do it. If just around the speakers, nah.
