So after reading through most of this thread and several others. If I want to get the nose of my DCLB TRDOR up about 1-1.5 inches, the easiest way to do that (without spacers) is just swap in some adjustable 5100s and figure out which notch to set it at?

That's probably the easiest way (without spacers). However, for a superior ride it would be better to also add aftermarket coils that do the lifting instead of pre-loading the stock coils. OME 887 or 888 will do this and you can leave your 5100s set at zero. More travel and smoother ride.

any chance that puts the nose too high and then I gotta do the rear to compensate? I'm a big fan of doing things right the first time. but ive already way overspent on mods...

Yeah... if you only want 1"-1.5'' you would probably just want to set the 5100s at one of the lower settings. That shouldn't be too much pre-load. If you want more lift use the aftermarket coils.

Is it just me? I really think those lower spring perches were installed upside down.

I just towed my # 4500lb trailer from FL to NH with my '17 4X4 TRD Sport.
Only thing I added to the suspension before I left was Sumo Springs in the rear.

All was well until I returned to those gawd awful NE roads and the truck turned into a dobbie horse.
The front end rose and dropped like a dolphin, even shook out a fuse under the dash !

So I guess I need to beef things up, eh ?

    1. I don't want to make the truck ride too stiff as most of my driving is just down the road. I don't tow all the time.
    2. I am not a "wheeler" No hard core off-roading although I drive the woods and construction sites.
    3. I will probably keep stock wheel and tire sizes.
    3. I am not opposed to a lift, mainly for looks I suppose and fix the "lean".
    4. I'd like to wind up level or with a rear high rake.
    5. Budget < $2K.

    What say you ?

Headstrong Off-Road has complete Old Man Emu Kit w/ Dakar Leaf Pack - 2016+ Tacoma

I'm on the same journey!! Reading all the old posts and various opinions to get some ideas. I won't install it myself, so I'm researching ballpark installation time to get a rough idea on cost. Keep us posted.

Those tires likely won’t rub even on stock suspension.

Hey everyone, I just managed to get my front end done this evening by myself after a couple hickups
    3rd gen 5100
    887
1/2" top spacer on driver side
    1/4" on passanger
    Spc uca's
I know itll take time to settle, but as of right now how do my angles look? Pretty bad eh. How do i correct this? After it settles and an alignment? Dakars go on tomorrow
2nd question. It sits real high right now, the only thing i waited to torque once the wheels were on the ground and bounced some was the lower alignment cams on the lca. Is that correct?

    Thanks,
After a lot of searching I think I'm going to wait for the 6112, and 5160 bilstiens to be in stock instead of the 888 5100 route.

Does anyone know what needs to be done in order to put a lift kit on a 2018 with all the safety equipment such as adaptable cruise control and crash avoidance.

    Toyota's are awesome

You can lift the Tacoma no problem, but from we were told from Toyota is that you need to keep factory rake (can't level them) on the Tacoma to insure that the sensors will still be able to read the road/ vehicles.

    Not much stock left.
Nothing special needs to be done. Lots of ‘18’s on here are lifted. Mine included.
