    At least next time it will be easier. I searched hi and low and there is limited info on how to replace the starter on a 2nd gen 4.0L 4x4.

    OK, I am going to Appalachian Toyota Round-up this year. (August 30 - September 3) I am going to be leaving from Tampa probably Wednesday or Thursday and come back on Monday. Is anyone else going / want to convoy up? This will be my first year attending, but I have been eyeing it for the last two years since it started, but unable to go.     Just throwing this out there for opinions. Do you guys thing a 35x12.50-15 would pop a bead faster (aired down) on a 10" wide wheel than an 8" wide wheel?

    Not that I have ever dropped a bead to begin with, but I have had perfect success so far airing down my setup to 5-8 psi on 8" wide wheels, though I have had a decent amount of pebbles/sticks/grass stuck in the bead to the point where the bead would have to be broken to get that crap out.

    Yeah, I have too...so far as to have enough mud stuck in it that the tire went flat over night. I was just trying to figure out the best way to get basically the same stance I have now out of a set of 35x12.50-15 LTBs. Yours looked really skinny on 8" wheels. On 10" wheels they would probably look as wide or wider than mine.

    I'd just like to say, damn I had fun at Richloam last weekend. The company was great, the trails were awesome, and the only down side is I got eaten alive by horse/deer flies. Got welts all over my lower legs from the little bastitches, not as bad as LeeMar, but they definitely left a lasting impression, haha. Bet I don't forget my Deep Woods Off next time.

    And yeah :drunk:it's like that. Trying to figure out how to roll out of bed before the crack of noon without staying up all night. Still got a laundry list of shit to do with the OGT and other things. but I can't seem to get up before noon when it's :bananadead: as hell out. Next weekend I get to install and wire Rick's cab clearance lights. which I'm actually sort of jealous of (wish I could have found ones like these when I did mine :frusty:), and his lightbar, and I'll have my hands on my new 28" 18,000 lumin light bar, plus either another 28" or my old 20" to put in the T4R, which ever Rick doesn't want.

    My stock F250 SuperCab short bed with a 7.5L gas engine on 33x12.50s and aluminum wheels tripped the scales at the dump at 7500 lbs. That thing had to weigh in excess of 8k with the diesel and the huge steel bumpers, probably double the OGT's weight. :cool:
    And I just want to say my AllenFab bumper was fucking awesome. :fistbump:

    Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
    My 4Runner has 35x12.50x15 on 10 inch wide rims. I've aired down to 8 and haven't popped a bead. But, I've only done it a couple times.

    That's saying something with radials. They tend to be a little more malleable than bias plies.

    I've had a tire go down with 16x35-15 Boggers on 12" wheels due to mud in the bead while fully inflated. And then there's @michaelrussell who seems to pop beads regularly with his 35x12.50 Thornbirds, but I'm not sure what size wheels he's running. I guess there might be a component there that involves how aggressively you drive. I suppose I could try 10" wheels and if it didn't work out I could go back to my 8s and wheels spacers. I'm operating under the premise the wider the stance the more stable the vehicle...plus wide tires just look better, IMHO.

    Haha, never popped a bead on my '83 on 33x12.50R15 BFG KMs even though they were on 12" wide wheels (had to show the tire tech how to get the beads to seat when he was mounting them, lol). But then I never ran them aired down and I never wheeled it that much.

    Man, did I miss out when I had that one. I was right up there in Atlanta in the middle of all those great trails and I never knew about them. Closest I came was when I got my ATV after the 83' was long gone and some coworkers and I took a trip to Rainbow Mountain which had a really nice rock crawling hill which would have been a blast in the OGT, but probably very very difficult in my open/open '83.

    So...I finally got around to washing the OGT from Richloam yesterday. Then today, as part of my post-season super-cleaning, I got up under her with a bucket of soapy water, a rag, and the water hose, and washed the rear axle and suspension, insides and outsides of the frame, the fuel tank skid, the driveshafts and crossmembers, all the way up to the middle cab mount, since I'll get all that stuff when I pull the tires and brakes to clean them.

    After that, I loosened my rear bumper bolts, ran the strap under the truck and hooked it to the big oak tree in my yard and yanked everything back down into the proper position and tightened the bolts back down. Now the tailgate fully opens again and has about .25" of clearance over the bumper. Hopefully I will have done something about that little issue before next season. :fingerscrossed:

    Last big purchase for a while was done today. This bonus at work and what I had in from doing side work I bought the front coilovers.

    14” KING 2.0s with remote Reservoir and clicker adjusters. Raised lower spring seats, and 90* fittings for the resi. 150 over 250 and had them set up for 4 to 5”s of up travel. Should be here in 4 to 6 weeks.

    Also cost myself 80 bucks last night by bending a stub shaft with my 20t press. Didn’t realize the clip on the air trigger locked into place. I let go and the press kept going bending both ears. Rookie move on my end. Removed that clip from both the tube bender and the press.
