Isn’t there a solution to the steering wheel alignment? I think the tack weld the steering shaft thing.

I would - most places give you a month warranty in my area.

The Steering Tack Weld Mod can fix a lose steering wheel. If it's not straight, there is something wrong with the allignment. There are dozens of things that can mess with allignment.

That keeps it from being loose, but an alignment issue would be like something came loose (maybe a cam got knocked out of position since they're really the only adjusters in our trucks besides tie rods that don't really come undone) and now his steering wheel has to compensate for it.

That's for excessive play, if I'm not mistaken. Steering is tight, no excess movement in the wheel, it's just sitting at 2 o'clock

I'll call the shop tomorrow morning, thanks guys.

You could check to see if they tightened the cam bolts enough.

I definitely need an alignment. I have to hold the steering wheel at 5 degrees left for the truck to go straight.

Probably the differences in steering knuckles when I did my 4WD swap. I’ll wait until I put the new upper control arms and coil overs first.

My steering is off center too, but I know why. It will be straight once I replace my PS tierod. The pains of living in the Salt Belt...

I'm sure you could call solo and ask, they seem to be pretty responsive. It wasn't long ago that they announced it.

Yeah give them a call. Early in the morning is better. They get pretty busy after lunch time and don't have a voicemail system. Email works too.

    That's a big hell no.

Long travel arms are 3.5'' wider than stock arms. Thats what +3.5'' means. This is why long travel merits more travel, the arm is longer. So if you put a wider lower on...well..you wouldn't be able to mount the spindle and the UCA.

Stock width LCA replacement upgrades aren't really a thing with 1st gens like they are with 2nd gens. This is because the OEM arm is already very stout vs the 2nd gen arm which will rip its own bushing sleeves off causing the arm to fall off. Thus why TC, Solo, Baja, and others make stock width arms for 2nd gens.

You can see how much wider it is here:

Left is LT right is stock width. And when i was stock i had 1.5'' wide spacers..so really it looks wider than it is.

Here is my truck in the middle of two stock width ones.

Who’s done bedside replaces on here? I found a great deal on a complete bed, but it was in a rollover so the bedsides are fubar. My bed is all rusty, full of holes, and corroded so my plan was to use my good bedsides and swap it to the other bed.

not fun. You have to cut off the stock ones to fit the fiberglass ones. Also, it'll look super weird with fiberglass flare bedsides and stock width everything. Pass on that idea.

I was at the auto parts store so I figured what the hell. 19” seems to work fine on the drivers side, 18” doesn’t work on the passenger side. Overlaps the side of the windshield on later model 1st gen:
