So overall you like it, but not sure you could justify the $800 if you did it again? Is that right?
I'm right there with you, $800 seems really steep for a 'toy', if it were $500-600 I'd probably have one already. I can get this lightly used (from my understanding, 1 bash session from someone that likely didn't have the skills for the truck) for only $300+ Tax. Just the truck and remote control, I'll still need to get some batteries for it and whatever replacement parts it needs.

Painted and trimmed the new shell today, not sure if I like it yet. On the other hand, is anyone interested in buying a SCX10.2 kit roller? It’s in great condition and will come with a black hilux shell

I guess this about sums it up. I think the eRevo was a better value. I would also have to say either of these two were better than Xmaxx.

I cannot complain price wise since my recent purchases have been less than retail. If you count free batteries, even less.

The udr is def sweet but its not made to handle the big jumps and stuff. More for high speeds and desert style stuff. If your not into sending it off big jumps then I say its def cool. The cost is also high. You can get an xmaxx for an extra 100. I have an e revo 2.0. If your really not sure I can let you check out my revo.

Looks nice. I've wanted a Honcho for a while now. Was going to pick one up soon but then the TRX4 sport was released. Now I'm torn between them.

I knew exactly what I was getting with the Honcho. The TRX4 im not completely sold on its crawling abilities but as a trail truck I am sure its a ton of fun. I spend most the trucks life crawling on rockier conditions than trails. I need a truck built more for rock walls like this one that gets moved around every few weeks with new technical lines to take.

If I wanted a truck to walk behind on a trail id consider the trx4 more especially with the 2 speed.

ordered a VP swaybar finally for my bomber. should help out crawling and speed. 3s with a good turn would flip it over before

Just get the body and put it on whatever you already own
I like it but it's pretty narrow, I'd prefer it being as wide as the honcho cab. But that be like 1/9th

$300+tax is a good deal on a udr

Good points. The Honcho is a tried and tested platform that has stood over the years. I don't plan on doing a lot of crawling like this. I'll probably use it more on trails when stopped with the full size and in the backyard. With a $30 difference between the Honcho and TRX4 sport it's a tough decision.

From what I've seen online the SCX10 can be quick if you want it to. Of course those can have a different motor or gears in them. Can it not maintain a walking pace with the stock motor?

    Doesn't the honcho have a 35t Axial? A 12t can get you 30mph, so a 35t geared right around 10mph? just a guesstimate

Yes, the Honcho has the 35t Axial. 10mph sounds like a good guesstimate to me. That's a good walk / slow jog. You wouldn't be keeping that pace for too long.

I build them to creep slow so i dont consider them quick. yes the rtr is a brisk pace to follow.

Turns out the house we bought last October backs up to an open space that has been used for crawling by people in the past. I took the OG out thus morning but I'm going to have to set up a course back there.
