Suspension Squeak

This is the second Taco(1996 and 2002 4x4s) Ive owned that the front suspension squeaks, Ive sprayed them WD-40 and it stops for a while. Anyone else have this issue

Mine squeaks sometimes. I havnt found a way to stop it yet. The rear squeaks alot but thats just dirty bushings. Im thinking about presure washing the front and rear suspention to try and stop it.

 

Yeah! Forget about WD40, that shit sucks. More than likely your best bet is to get some real grease up in the joints(taking shit apart). You can try a silicone spray too.

I tried washing it out. Didnt work. the water lubricated it a little but once it dries out it squeaks again. I dont know what to take apart so spray.

 

Dry Graphite lube works good. It wont attract dirt as wet lubricants and oils do. First you need to clean out the leaf packs as much as possible.


Just noticed you said the front end. What exactly is making the noise?

I contacted my dealer last week about the squeaks from the rear of my 09 double cab off road. Before i could say anything he said find time to drop it off. It takes 1 hour to figure out and if needed they have a 'kit' for the squeak which is a known issue. No TSB for this yet? Seems like mine is only when its hot and dry out. When it rains it stops. I also have a squeak when i get out of my truck which i chaulk up as the same issue. Just my 2 cents............

Next week mine is going in..........all warranty work!

 

Living in the dry/hot Colorado front range, mine only squeak when it's humid out.

I just figured it's just the humidity f'in with the bushings, etc..

 

Front right axel somewheres. It sounds like the A-arm or upper control arm or the strut its self. I cant tell. Even getting in there and pushing on stuff. It all vibrates from the noise being so loud. I dunno.

Like I said Water is a natural lubricant so as long as it is wet it stops.

 

I had this for awhile aftre installing my Coilovers. And It was the Lower strut bushing.
(were it bolts to the LCA)

And I lubed it but it only help for a little while. Over time though, it stopped.
And now my TC UCA bushings squeek over bumps. "Oh well"

 

idk if i have shared my method yet but here it goes. Since i got my truck in december, i have had my front end completely torn apart 5 times (kicker is that i bought it with the lift on it). The way i keep all of my bushings greased is ill take a big syringe and a needle, cut the tip off the needle, as not to damage the bushings and then fill the syringe with lithium grease. Then i stick the end of the needle between the bushing and metal and push some grease in. My truck rides pretty quiet.

 

I would say its the A arm bushings for sure and Ive tried spraying grease and It does work for a while.

ya it seems to work really well. i mean aside from putting grease zirks on all of the joints. I used to breed and show pigs so we have a ton of syringes laying around.

 

My mom is a nurse so I should be able to get one.
