That's the idea unless Logan is ready to take his Ham Radio test. If he is I'm going to take him to that.

I used to install them for fleet vehicles mostly, the big name ones are expensive AF! Checkout Fleetmatics or sagequest. They also do personal vehicles. Surely someone you know could help install but you're always welcome to "ping" me if need be :D

I would install these a lot with car alarms as well. I used to have 3 piezo sirens within my dash so anyone that stayed inside the cab more than a few seconds would have bleeding eardrums

There's a few others. One thing I learned is if it's a smart thief, they'll cut the ground and it kills everything in the vehicle, even the alarm. So have a second ground done. Just a suggestion

Do you know about the car show/meet in round rock Sunday evening? There's some guys cruising down from Waco, that I know. But I can at least get the address of where it's at if anyone wants to go

These thieves are using some kind of scanners to pull the codes from your cars inside the house and then use it to make their keys work. Within 5 minutes they're inside your car and have onstar and all that disabled as well as have their own computers plugged in to drive away in your car. They've stolen probably 20-30 Cadillacs in Houston in the last year.

It's that smart key reader thingy. It only is effective if the key is near close range of their thing

Sounds like it's time to go back to that '70's muscle car tactic of the hidden fuel valve or remote fuel pump cut off switch. :curls:

I’ve seen a lot of signal boosters for push starts that simply allow the car to be opened/started without a physical key. The engine runs for X time as a safety precaution (like if your remote battery died while driving). It’s enough time to drive a ways, load onto a flat bed, and disconnect electrical.

They are using a computer to trick the computer into thinking the correct key is in the car

Do you mean a skeleton fob taking on a temporary ID?

I’m referring to a simple boost to the range of the fob like this:

Yes, the more sophisticated car thieves are using a code grabber and "clone" the original fob to trick the cars computer
