Haha yes I know it's crazy. My work takes me all over this freaking state so I don't mind chasing the money over a vehicle.

 

This lady keeps calling me from an "Asset Solutions" at the following number 1-601-213-0438 which is a Jackson, MS number, she has my last name, my cell phone number, and a previous address of mine and she keeps trying to get a hold of a Caravin? Simmons.... I only know one other person with my last name and that is my father and that is not his name... the first time she said she sent a 10 day notice to my previous address that I had not lived at since like 2013, when I started to question her on things. She hung up on me... she called again today and I let it go to voicemail and she left a voicemail saying that "She needs Caravin? Simmons to call her back upon receiving this message immediately or from his attorney, my name is Breonna and you can reach me at 601-213-0438 and thank you."

I called her back, got a receptionist of some form and got transferred to this person and she asked for the number, I told her that once again that I do not know who that person is and wanted to know how she has my number, a previous address of mine, and a last name of mine and what this concerns. She said that she could not speak to me if I was not Caravin Simmons and then hung up on me.

This lady is really starting to miss me off... my internet sleuthing skills are not helping either.

 

Just call back and tell them your a debt collector and your looking to speak to Caravin Simmons. Time to start trolling them

 

I called back and started to ask more questions and asked if they were a legit business and this different lady got an attitude with me. I then asked for a federal tax ID and she said have a good day and hung up on me.

We are now flooding their number with phone calls....

 

It’s fairly easy to get old information like that and she could be confusing you with another Simmons that lives in the area (associating you with this person of inquiry). Even if you DID know that person, it’s not your job to provide that information, same as she “can’t” provide how she got your info.

Following suit with @Crash721, it’s time to troll. Lead her on a rabbit trail or my favorite, look up a random historical person’s wiki and begin reading

 

I was getting calls about a extended warranty for my truck a couple months ago and just kept giving them false info.

 

I called back and talked to some other lady and told her what was going on. I told her I wanted to know why they had a previous address of mine, my cell phone number, and my last name and continued to call me. She said that they removed my number from that and I told them that I still wanted to know if they were a legitimate business as Asset Solutions is so generic is sounds fake. I asked if they had a website and she kept repeating that they did what I asked, when I asked if they had a Federal Tax ID number, she got an attitude and said have a great day and hung up on me.

We have been calling the number and leaving voicemails and filling up their voicemails for all of our lines though...

I think she is just a crock of shit and is just a scam trying to scare people into giving money over the phone is all.

 

I have the same thing twice a year. They called about my Altima (totaled, reason I got the Tacoma) and asked to renew the warranty. After I said that I didn’t own the vehicle anymore, she paused and proceeded to ask about warranty on my 10 month old Tacoma.

I told her to pick a vehicle next time as this turn has been used already.

I have had that happen recently with my old car... the dealership called asking if they could buy it... I said sure... I just have no idea where it was.

I don't think so, I may call that number and see what happens though. But at this moment. I am starting to not care, unless they call again and then I will start figuring out more ways to mess with them.

It's illegal to harass debtors, ask them to send proof of the debt if they can't provide that tell them to fuck off or you will invoke your protections under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
