Wheel and tire fitment

I am sorry to ask this but for some reason I cannot wrap my mind around wheel size and how they will actually fit. I'm pretty sure what I want will work and I am ready to order I just want to be sure and could use some help.

I run 265/75/16 on factory wheels with no lift and do not have a problem. The factory wheels look terrible and I need new tires, so I'm just going to buy all new tires and wheels.

I want Method MR305 NV:

• Bolt Pattern:
  6-139

Will I have any fitment problems with 265/75/16 tires on these wheels on a stock (no lift) 06 Tacoma Double Cab Off-Road.

Should be fine to run that w/t combo on stock suspension.

No problem. A lot of people on here running that size stock with no issues.

New wheels and tires should look perty good.

I have the same question about 17 inch. They come in 8 and 8.5. I want to put 285 70 17. I am sure flaps have to be removed just not sure about CMC.

 

Way different case if you are not lifted. Stock is around a 31" tire where as a 285 is 33". For 285 though you need the right combination of lift, wheels, and alignment. I know the alignment should be about 0 camber, 0 toe, and 3 degrees of castor for 3" lift. You'll probably want UCA's at that point (they have either adjustable or fixed high castor ones). From what i have gathered it is best to adjust for castor at the upper ball joint rather than the lower cam because it will rub more on the rear of fender and cab mount if the lower cam is used to adjust castor. I can't answer the wheel question, but both the 8 and 8.5 can be run. I think getting the correct offset and backspacing for the width you want is more important. Hopefully someone with more knowledge that knows in depth can answer this. There is a really good thread about all of this. It gets technical and I was confused, but it explains everything.

 

Cool I am paying off the truck this week. Then ordering OME full kit with Dakars. I wasnt going to get the UCA's unless need for alignment. I am just doing a lot at once and trying to plan this out correctly. OME lift first, drive it and see how it is different than stock and the wheels and tires I have now. Then get the new wheels and tires. I have about 5-10k left on the tires now. So moving as quickly as possible.

Read through this and if you have questions afterward, asking a specific one may garner more results. The answer is going to be a little different for each width so it depends on what you want. I think you can run either size as long as the bs and offset are correct.

 

I have the full kit with Dakars from headstrong. Love it. I went with the softer tuned nitrochargers and I would recommend that set up. It is not as soft as stock was, but they absorb better than stock and recover instantly. Honestly if you are going with the full kit throw the LR SPC UCA's in with the package. I know it is another $400 bucks, but it allows the castor to be adjusted at the top ball joint. That can alleviate a lot of clearance issues as opposed to using the lower UCA cam. The SPC UCA's also can be used to adjust the camber as well i believe. I'm not sure you get any adjustments for alignment with the others. I opted for that route because i wanted options once i lifted and put tires on just in case it rubbed. I haven't brought myself to do the pinch weld smash, but it is coming before the fall.

That is the exact kit I was going to get and was going to use HeadstrongOffroad. Thanks for the information. I just need to find out if 285's and 8.5 wide or 8 inch wide wheel is going to be better. Started reading the thread you posted and well MATH!
