98 Tacoma, missing my antennae, and finally going to try and fix/replace. How do I know if it's power or not? It's SR5.

Any links to sticky's or something so I can see how to do this? Good brand replacement or just OEM?

Hmm ok, then what about offroading, is it whipping around smacking into anything? Worth getting an offroad one?

Not sure I've ever heard of an "off road" radio antenna.

And no, it doesn't whip around snacking things. It's fine. It goes through car washes.

Your truck has an antenna. Insects have antennae.

Just get one from AutoZone if you don't use the radio. That's what I did because I wanted a shorter one. Radio still works, but it's maybe 90% as effective as the stock antenna.

Actually you know what PM me. You can have my old one if you want and if shipping isn't a dumb price.

Shorter usually means worse reception - especially the cheap short ones...

Like I said, I've never had a problem with the factory antenna while off road or in car washes. If you can get a factory one from a junk yard for a similar price, I'd go that route. Or take @ThunderOne up on his offer.

Nah, that's another 3.99...plus non-priority shipping. Just gotta get one of those Jillian Rebekah IG-famous types to get one, and I'm set!

I'm trying to run a business here man!
