    @thefatkid or anyone else.

    My brother is looking at buying a 5th gen 4runner. Are there any frame rust issues he should be looking for? Truck has 30,000 and it's in Buffalo.

    Or any other issues?

    Thanks

    Welp, we done screwed up. We made these last minute changes for our trip into Colorado, and were hoping to find a room in Ouray on the 4th (our Anniversary) for a good mid trip break and some dinner, but everything is booked. Checked for any AirBnB's in the area too. So, worst case we just camp again, unless anyone has any suggestions?

    I highly recommend the 4th Celebration in Telluride/ Ouray but have no alternative that will not also be packed.

    Ouray has a Jeep parade down the switchbacks and Telluride you lay down on back because they explode above you. Telluride (ie Mountain Village connect by free tram to Telluride proper) probably has lodging but it could be pricey.

    Telluride also has a huge BBQ after their parade to support their volunteer fire Dept.

    oh Hell... :rofl: what have we gotten ourselves into. lol

    We will be coming down said switchbacks into Ouray ON the 4th (during the afternoon).. we found an AirBnB just south of Ridgway, so about 8 miles out of our way. Going to take Imogene into Telluride the next day (the 5th)

    It'll be an adventure that's for sure. Might just camp again, we have the shower on the truck and everything, just would of been nice to get a lil fancy on our Anniversary. I'll be happy regardless. beautiful weather and scenery!

    The drive from Ridgway to Ouray isn't too far. Between the two is Orvis Hot Springs. Highly doubt they have any rooms available, but might be worth checking. My favorite place to stay in that area. Hot springs there are amazing (better than Ouray springs, IMO). They also have tent camping, so you could at least use the springs and showers if you had to camp.

    thats a great idea actually! I see that Orvis is right across the road from the AirBnB we were looking at. I'll check there! even for just the showers and some relaxation.

    hahaha I saw that. "optional"

    I think we found an older/smaller hotel that had a room in Ouray. since its just for the night and basically for the shower.. we dont mind if its not fancy-shmancy. We are excited to be apart of the festivities for the 4th though! have heard nothing but amazing things about Ouray/Telluride during the 4th.

    Don't count on any fireworks, I think they've all been cancelled due to the conditions.

    And was then thoroughly confused when the Stevinison Lexus parts truck showed up:

    Best fireworks I ever saw were from a mountaintop above Marble....on July 4th....while it was snowing....and mountain goats were 10 feet from me. Crazy. Ouray and Telluride will be happenin with or without fireworks. Have fun!

    Pretty much every “hotel” in Ouray was built in the 1800’s
