Yeah, I wish I could drop the seat an inch or two as well. But for other reasons. (sunroof = no headroom).

I wonder if there might be a possibility of adapting an extension for the steering column?

I completely agree with you. I’m 5’11 and 185 lbs. If I have the seat back far enough to keep my knees clear of my jingle-jangly keys, then I have to arch my back forward to reach the steering wheel. If the steering wheel telescoped more, this would be less of a problem.

This! i had one as a loaner and loved everything about the 4 runner, except the interior design...i thought it was the stupidest layout. this (window switches) being one of the drawbacks.

I really just wish the lower seat cushion was a inch or three longer on my Tacoma. Otherwise I find it pretty comfortable.

I'm 5' 8" and I find the ergonomics to be great, other than the clutch pedal being too close.

I'm just shy of 6' and 170lbs, I find the taco to be quite comfortable even on long drives. I'm used to driving low small cars, so it may be that I find it familiar to that.

Iv'e wacked my shin on that part several times, actually the part below the wheel. I learned to live with it, after about the fourth time doing it, I became more aware, now hardly ever!! In my opinion, everything else makes it worth it :)

I briefly looked into it but little luck. Found a guy making custom extensions but were $1k and kind of ugly.

They should let people sit in these things before selling them.

^Right. Because no one ever gains weight, loses weight, wears more clothes in the winter than the do in the summer, changes shoes, or does anything else that might necessitate a *slight* change in seating position from the 5 minutes of driving time you get before you decide to buy the thing or not...

I liked the seating position in my Rubicon quite a bit better than my Tacoma, particularly because in the Jeep you could 'jack' up the back of the seat with a lever on the side.

The seats seem very narrow in the Tacoma, to me anyways. I'm 5'11, 180 lbs.

    same shit as everyone else
I just bought a 2018 TRD off road and I can’t figure out how to even do basic things with it. There’s a fucking GPS in that radio but holy Shit you need a degree in computer engineering to get it to work. We’ve decided asking Siri is the way to go

What exactly changed from the time you test drove it? Usually the test drive is sufficient enough to determine whether or not the ergonomics are right for you.

I can’t speak for the OP, but I test drove mine in the Pennsylvania snow belt in January. Turns out I don’t have to wear 3 shirts, a Carhart, and boots all summer long, though. I’ve also dropped about 15lbs since, which helped, but the Steering Wheel is still too far away (and further without the cold weather layers.)

Have you really never adjusted your seat for any reason since the first time you drove it? You just got that lucky?
