That’s the difficult part, a lot of trails are only one bad line choice away from “shit, I should have had sliders.”

    They are cheap insurance really...

That was a fun trail. Not much potential for damage. Definitely would run it with someone though just in case. Haha

There are a lot of hills people have shit their pants on only to see me with a lot of speed charge up. Big tires + speed + locker = good time. But coming from you, I'll have to say I'd probably make it 3/4 of the way lol.

    TC makes an OE replacement.

It’s obviously a beefed up version and expensive.

    ^ What he said.

I read a thread the other day (wish I saved it now) talking about the various stock length lowers. You have Dirt King or TC.

The thread came up because the TC Race lowers position the lower unit all in such a way that it limits your turning radius until you hit it enough times that it notches the welds on the lower arm and makes room.
This isn’t the case with the non race lowers or the DK arms. If I remember correctly he said had he’d known this he’d have chosen DK.

Sorry don't have my stock lowers anymore. I left them with @glorifiedwelder when he replaced them with TC LCAs.
Passenger side was bent so that was trash but if I still had the drivers side Id give it to you.

    @anthony250f

Here is a post I made in another thread about replacing my LCA.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

So I replaced my LCAs earlier this year because I bent the passenger side spindle and LCA and here is what I learned.

Both TotalChaos and DirtKing make fantastic products but I happened to go with TotalChaos Race Series stock length LCA so this is based on that experience.

    1) They don't work with shocks that used bushings. You shouldn't have a problem since you already have Kings but I didn't know this at the time so I had to replace my shocks.
    2) The lower ball joint attachment needs to be modified (ie grind off the stearing stop that ends up resting against the LCA when at full lock)
    3) At first your steering radius will be greatly reduced. Over time the modifed lower ball joint attachment and the LCA will clearance themselves (basically removes softer metal on the weld) and just that little bit of metal removed greatly improves turning radius. I think its still a bit wider than stock but now I don't really notice it much.

Here is the LCA freshly installed.

Here it is after driving home. You can see its just starting to clearance itself.

Here it is after a couple more days of driving

The non race series install instructions don't mention the need to modify the lower ball joint attachment. This is because those LCAs use an adapter that puts the lower ball joint attachment above the LCA.
    See instructions here.
    http://www.chaosfab.com/PDF/install/accessories/86500.pdf

Now if you look at the Dirt King LCA they add a steering stop to the LCA and you don't need to modify the lower ball joint attachment.

In short you can't go wrong with either product.

The TC issue is mostly on their race series for both stock length, +2 LT but not so much on the +3.5 LT kits.
The +3.5 kits from what I have read actually decrease the turning radius.

The reason its an "issue" on the stock length and +2 kits is because the part of the LCA that goes to the uni-ball on the lower is thicker/wider then how dirt king makes them. At least thats what I get from looking @ pictures. I haven't actually seen the dirt king lowers to compare.
