Thanks. My brother lives in PA so he’s not absolved of rust issues.

I was inquiring more along the lines of design flaws like our first gen frames near the front hanger of the leaf springs.

If by design flaw you mean steel frames with only a paint coating, yes. Toyota still stands by their process of frame design and only "accepts" issues when they loose a law suit. They have yet to issue any recalls for Japanese built vehicles and I have seen just as many of those rusted out.

The corporate answer is it is still a government issue because they are the ones using deicers the promote steel oxidization.

If you actually meant Treehouse, I'll strongly disagree. Treehouse is one you can walk around on your own at any time (or was until the cliff face destabilized a few years ago, and apparently they still haven't opened it back up - and it was really set up for it with a visitor center up on the rim right there and everything). There are a few of them that you can only get up close to and walk around in if you're on a tour. One of those, the most iconic that most of the pictures are of, is Cliff Palace. Now that has a sunset tour, and if that is what you meant, totally.

We did both Long House in the middle of the day and the sunset Cliff Palace. Long House was pretty typical of what you'd expect, big group of people, talking ranger. Worth it if you want to get up close and won't be seeing others. The Cliff Palace one was a little different. The day ones are probably the same, and I would do it over Long House, but the sunset was a smaller tour (which we almost didn't go on after getting there, and one couple did leave, because waiting for it to start there was a group of kids that were very loud and rowdy but once the tour got underway they were very well behaved) that was given by a ranger who was role-playing a historic figure. Like to the point that if you asked a question about something modern he wouldn't know what you were talking about, or if you questioned a 'fact' that has historically been proven wrong he'd 'get mad' and say those idiots didn't know what they were talking about. We were more interested in the photography, and while the tour normally stops at a point to talk for a while before the group can wander a bit, he let us go on ahead and wander to take pictures while everyone else was listening so we didn't have to worry about people in the shots.

Oh and the pinstripes were a plenty, especially after a wrong turn that led to a missing piece of trail
