OK, so it lifts it 1" and levels it in the process. That makes more sense. I thought it was just a 2" spacer up front and nothing in the rear.

I still think you're going to be disappointed with the rear springs on these after having a full size truck. I had to put a lot of work into mine to give it about 2" of rake so it sat level when loaded with a trailer.

So like I mentioned in my original post about trading my Sierra for a new ‘18 sport dbl cab long bed. I have been lurking here and researching all of the posts here. It seems almost everyone has a problem with these 3rd gens ranging from leaks to seating to rattles etc. Makes me think twice.

I went from an '11 Tundra to a '17 TRD OR double cab/long bed. Initially it seemed kind of small, the console was not the size of a refrigerator and the interior felt a little cramped, plus the bed, although the same length as the Tundra, wouldn't take as much stuff, but those feelings soon passed with familiarity and the handling, comfort, economy, etc., all came together and eliminated any regret. I don't need a full-sized truck. I did for a few years and the Tundra was good for that time in my life, but this one suits me much better generally.

This is my exact thoughts too. Had 3 tundras then went midsized and only have had my Tacoma 2 and a half months and 5500 miles. I love the driving it and the size. Seat comfort is only issue for me and hopefully I'll get that worked out . I get that figured out for me I'll be in tall cotton!!

I think you are going to find issues with any vehicle you look at, especially on forums. I owned a 2017 4Runner prior to my 18' Tacoma, and it is rated as one of the most reliable vehicles you can purchase. Go through the toyota-4runner.org forums and you will find a lot of complaints about the vehicle, granted not as many as on TW, but I do not believe there are not nearly as many 4Runners on the road as Tacomas. With mine I had steering wheel vibration, wind noise, interior panel noise and alignment issues from day 1. Most issues got resolved and loved it until I had to sell it for other reasons.

I was getting discouraged about considering a Tacoma because of this forum, but at the end of the day I decided I want to find out for myself. They can't sell as many as these things as they do if they're all this problematic. End of the day, if you like the truck, enjoy driving it, go for it!

I have only had mine a week so I could change my tune but I doubt it. All the issues I had with my little Golf TDI (diesel) did not make me love it any less and kept that thing until VW gave me a big fat cheque for it.

    Just my two bits.

Your right, all vehicles have their share of issues. Sometimes I feel I should keep my Sierra but every time I see a new ‘18, I want to trade!

Honestly if you accept that the new tacoma needs the OVTune and the ac drain mod there’s honestly nothing else I feel Is seriously annoying. I changed The dash speakers, too, but it’s not as bad as the forums make it sound. I love My truck.

I'm an old retired fart so I don't need a full size. In a year and a half I've had only one passenger in the back seat. My teenage niece who was more concerned that her iphone cord wouldn't reach the USB port than she was about legroom. Stopped at a Walmart to get a longer cord and didn't hear any more complaints. I pat myself on the back daily for buying this truck. No ragrets, regerts or regrets at all.

Came from a 15 Silverado CC to my 17 Taco DC. Although I do miss it occasionally, I do enjoy the better mileage, maneuverability, etc... Didn't have the need for the full size anymore so I jumped on the wagon. It tows the couple of things that I need and with the tri-fold cover it suits my storage needs. Only issue mine had was a small A/C issue which the dealer resolved quickly and with no issue. Otherwise, it's served me well. I read quite a few bad things all over the web about 3rd gen issues and realized every brand/make/model has it's issues (My $55k silverado had some very common issues). To answer the question though, no regrets. Choose whichever is right, works best for your application, and most of all, enjoy!

No regrets! I drive full size trucks every day and relish getting in the Tacoma. Also, even mine doesnt rattle. I call bullshit. Its all opinion anyway and only mine really matters to me. tacoma front.jpg Tacoma threequarter.jpg

I was close to getting the F150 because really the mileage is as good if not better but.... Stealership let me have the DCLB lifted 18 for a whole day and it was a done deal. The back seat is fine for a couple of adults to go to dinner but no road tripping. We have just a small dog so it's a great DD and weekend warrior truck for me. I wouldn't get a 6 inch lift probably again if I had a choice but besides that the 3rd gen is way nicer then my 2nd gen was.

I don’t really carry passengers either, just as long as I have enough room for shit when I head to the cottage every weekend

My Tacoma don't rattle at all. It is by far much better than my 16 Colorado. It was rattles all over after 55k miles and 2 years. This truck is so much more solid interior

My only regret, is that I didn't get the 4x4. I work so much, I didn't think I'd do any real off roading. Then I got stuck in some soft dirt in a friend's front yard. How embarrassing!

I'm just over a year and 11k miles in, so take it with a grain of salt....but I have zero leaks so far. The seating is zero issue for me, personally, but I understand how it could be for some. Yeah, the telescoping steering wheel has about 1/2" total adjustment it seems and I would sure like it to come out about another inch, but very doable for me.

Rattles? Zero. It's one of the reasons I keep going back to Toyotas. I can't take a vehicle with rattles and squeaks. When they pop up, I hunt them down relentlessly. Haven't had to hunt any down on this one so far. On my 2002, a few developed over the years. The infamous dash rattle (easily solved). The door interior panel squeaks (panel rubbing on metal). A little oil applied in that area once a year handled those. Now with 240k miles on it, still the most quiet and sound truck I've driven.

These trucks just seem to be put together right, with a lot of attention to detail focused on NOT building a vehicle that sounds like a bucket of bolts after a few miles. I'm sure I may have to hunt a few down in the future after some more hard off roading and use, but as of yet, not a one.

    Funny :)
Add a winch, go back to your friends front yard, and pull yourself out of that soft dirt. That will give you some cred (NOT)
