My A/C started acting up today :( Driving down FM 969 with the windows down and as I started to head onto Hwy 130, I roll the windows up and turn the A/C on. A/C light started blinking. Turned it off and back on again, same thing. Turned it off and on again and the a/c light stayed on and could tell the compressor was kicked in. A/C is blowing cold so I don't believe its the compressor

Starting to look into it but already leaning towards what I found in this helpful thread. Not ruling out the relay that I found in a few other threads but with 167K miles now I am betting its the clutch plate. :bananadead::bananadead:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ac-clutch-failure-how-to-fix-blinking-light-squealing.448009/

Determined to fix this on my own and not hire an a/c shop. Will start looking at this closer when I get off work soon.

Good luck! It's too hot to be rolling around without AC.

    Wouldn't you like to know!
When my AC started acting up it was the pulley on the backside. It was a huge pain in the ass to replace also. They charged about $600 at the stealership.

Dude it was such a rarity that I had the time to do this. Wife went to CrossFit and took our kiddo and the other one was napping. It was awesome to actually wash it by hand! Only the 2nd time I’ve done it.
