I havent tried 1.04 91 yet. I dont like how 87 3rd gear holds so high while driving around town. Im curious if the 91version of 1.04 is lower shift point for 3rd gear due to more power. Anyone notice this?

In the world where I was born—which was for most of the years without serviceable computers—if the library wasn’t open or you didn’t have a set of up-to-date encyclopedias and you had a question you asked someone for help if you thought they would know the answer. For the most part, they were happy to help you,and usually didn’t criticize your choice of questions because they understood you probably had less experience in the subject than they did.
In this world I thought that the TW forums could fill that role.At least as far as this tune is concerned.A lot of you know a lot more than I do about computers in general and certainly about the OV tune and so I asked the question about disconnecting the battery during the tune. When I put a Gibson catback exhaust on my Tundra I was directed to disconnect the neg. terminal.I also did it when I connected other aftermarket parts even though it probably wasn’t necessary but it made sense to me.That is why I asked the question.I didn’t want to mess anything up.Honestly this is a pretty scary experience for me.
So for those of you who thought it was a silly quest. and voiced that in posts I hope I gave you a moment of pleasure in your day.

I picked up my truck May 5th with 6 miles on it. Loaded OV tune, (1.04 / 87), June 1, at right around 1,500 miles. I run 80 miles a day, (40 each way) for work. mix of stop and go through small towns and open road 2 lane. 1 day a week that turns into an extend run of about 200 miles round trip on the turn pike. These pictures were just taken and show how things ended when I parked last night.

yes, i think if i spent a bit more time on the highway and just longer trips in general I might start seeing better numbers. I work from home and I have 3 other vehicles that I take out once in a while. Most of my trips with the truck are to lowes or the post office or grocery store. Truck barely has time to get up to operating temp on these short trips. I do tend to see better numbers when taking a longer drive

Thanks for the post. Not really offended. I know there are a lot of really good guys here..A lot have helped me and messaged me offering help. Not really complaining either. Just explaining why I ask silly quests. sometimes when I’m not familiar with a subject. Just don’t want to screw up my vehicle.I’m retired and we are a one vehicle family right now.Refuse to pay the horrendous Cali vehicle reg fees——over $600 a year for Tacoma

The rumor I'm spreading is he has scrapped the turbo plans and is nearly done shoehorning the 4.7L v8 into his R&D 3GT

Agreed! We should switch over to the production of llamathrust. There are far fewer people who advocate in favor of llamas

If we are shoehorning, let’s make it something more fun like the LFA motor

Code and formula for 2GR FKS port injector control (size, latency, ratio, max injection, PW) has been found. Looks like E85 boost is happening in the future.

This truck will spank SC tundra, just wait.

I guess we're also going to find out how strong the rest of the drivetrain is!

    Turbo pics FTW.. please :)

BTW, will this newfound injector code have any use for the NA tunes?

    To everyone posting mpg status
The fuel tank level is critical
Anyone can have 27mpg rolling out of the gas station On a full tank
