I picked up my brand new 2018 DCSB, last Saturday, and yesterday at 380km the clutch was toasted

That should clearly be warrant, or you are the worst driver in the world.

Sweet. Warranty work. Free tow, free loaner.

I mean it is a wear item, but surely they won't try to wiggle out at this low a miles.

And I'd be asking for an extended warranty on the entire vehicle, on Toyota's nickel.

Just because you now lack confidence in the whole of your $35k+ vehicle.

That alone may make this headache worth your while.

There it is, the pic, it happened. As for confidence in the truck, I hear ya, but its my fourth taco, 2 second gens, and this is my second third generation. I never would have thought this would happen. Has anyone else had anything like this? Or even close to this?

Easily could be a bad clutch disc (think low bidder, Tacoma frames, etc.) that came undone.

And yes, I've read of others with some oddities on 3rd gens, but not sure a total fail.

    What has your searching revealed?

:smack: This is why warranties exist. Get a grip.
35K isn't a lot for a truck. Learn about inflation.
There, pretty sure I covered the bases we are gonna hit in this thread.

They look a lot better than stock sport rims.

OP That sucks, hope you or the dealer figures it out. I have 25k on my 2017 DCSB Sport MT and the clutch has been perfect. I tow, haul, and use this truck daily, I honestly think you drew the short straw.

Wasn't there a cat claiming a clutch plate on backwards or something to that effect?

Must have been a North Korean made clutch.

Interested to see the pics once its torn apart

Did it just go out all of a sudden or was it slipping beforehand

In 95 I bought a brand new Pontiac Grand Prix. I was so proud of my first brand new vehicle. I drove it 103 miles and the water pump shaft snapped. It's a bad feeling when your brand new ride breaks.
