MB quart

anyone have a system with MB quart speakers? are they worth the money?

 

Any of the new Maxxsonics owned MB Quarts then no. The older pre Maxxsonics stuff yes. I know that is pretty vague but imo is the truth. I can recommend things for about any budget.

 

im looking to spend around 500 on speakers and amp... i already have a head unit that im gonna use.;.. what do u recomend?

 

Are you just going to replace the front speakers or do you plan on adding a subwoofer now/in the future? If no sub planned do you need speakers that will play some bass? Also, what make/model headunit do you have?

 

i want to replace the speakers in the doors and when i get some more cash put in a sub... its an alpine head unit...dont have it by me right now so not sure of the model number... but i know i want to run an amp to the speakers in my doors

 

There are many good speakers out there that will fit in your budget and IMO the best "value" in speakers I have heard are the Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS ("value" to me means something that sounds better than it's price would lead you to believe). Check out the reviews online as well as at www.caraudiomag.com and you'll see that quite a few people feel the same way. If you plan to keep it simple you may consider getting a 4 channel amp so you could power the fronts from 2 channels now and when you get the sub you can power that from the other 2 channels bridged. Again there are many good amps out there that would fit the bill and I know atsaubrey has the Sundown Audio 4 channel available for a good price which would be a good choice IMO. BTW, what year/model truck do you have?

 

If you have a budget of $500 and can't recommend the ID XS69 comp set enough. I run the midbass in my competition car and the component set in my Taco. I like the that much. They will sound great on as little as 100wrms and can take 600wrms if you know what your doing. I didn't care all that much for the Pioneer PRS set that Marv recommended, I found them to be too laid back and dead sounding IMO. Could have been the installs but not my cup of tea.

 

You didn't hear them in my install. His budget is $500.00 for the speakers and amp which is why I didn't recommend the ID's to him but if he can fit them in the budget I'll agree they would be an excellent choice.

All my speakers and sub are MB Quart, 6x9 Comp front and 6.5 Comp on the back, 10" sub, JL Audio Amps.
My advise, yes they are worth the money, Reference models and up. JL Audio also are good. Now the question is, do you want to spend the money and are you willing to have to make the special modification to installed them on your doors. If you need pics or/and model numbers, let me know.
