    Was my first thought.

Second thought weld the hole shut, drill and tap for one of these. I’ve used these in the past with good results although installation can be a little finicky. But you’ll have hard threads that won’t strip and still be able to adjust the distributor.

Got home last night around 6:30 emptied the car and crashed! Speaking of crash we hit some road debris in Nebraska that did some damage. May be filing a claim.

Piece is completely destroyed! I’ll look closer today but didn’t see anymore damage after preliminary inspection. Didn’t run hot as some do that have this piece removed. Drive shaft tunnel is armored:D and rear end is out of a Cadillac with independent suspension. Rear end sits high, gas tank even higher.

Helicoil it...The intake on my '67 Z had that done already when I found it. Still there 40 years later. Most bolts in a top fuel motor are helicoiled...They'll hold up to that....They'll hold a distributor in place.
