I can not figure out this sound. I originally thought ac Compressor since it only happened when the ac engaged. Well ac compressor was replaced but it’s STILL THERE. I’m starting to think alternator ? All the idlers and tensioner bearings are brand new

That's a new one. Almost sounds like a drag car at idle haha

Sorry I can't be of more help. I have no clue.

Remove the belt and start it. Is the noise still present?

I’m gonna have to wait u til it makes the noise again. It is really intermittent and does not make this sound MOST of the time. Just came back from the garage to try to find it but it’s silent currently.

When it returns try to spray some water or a light mist of wd40 on each pulley that may isolate it if the noise goes away when hit with it

Got the same issue but does it with the ac off and on doesn’t do it all the time really started to see some correlation when it’s colder weather, it’s synchronized with the throttle more throttle the louder it gets , curious to what you come up with , cause I’ve had no luck diagnosing the issue

Maybe it’s the alternator. Turn on all the lights, heater, accessories and see if the noise comes back. As stated before, when it happens try spraying WD-40 at the bearings/ alternator and see if the noise changes or goes away.

You ever take the belt off and check the idler pulleys and tensione pulley?

I have not , is that where I need to start? thought ab doing the wd40 also. It’s happens usually in the am when I’m leaving for work but not every day so it’s been hard to really have the time to check it , with it being so sporadic does that sound like it could be the idler and tension pulleys.

Thats where I's start. Won't cost you anything but a few minutes of your time. See if any of them wobble back n forth and see if they spin pretty freely without making too much of a crunchy sound. If it spins waaaay to freely, another sign the bearing maybe bad. If you find a suspected bad one, to save a few bux, bring it to a local bearing shop see if they can match the bearing, so far I havent had an issue doing that. A bearing is $10-$15, an idler pulley is about $40, a complete tensioner is $125+.
