Fresh? Come south for a visit and we'll take a crack at reducing the feral hog population. Kevin's @Kolunatic bound to have a few down his way.

 

I'm going to try my best to secure a place to hunt while I'm there in Oct/Nov. If I had the money I'd buy a few acres just for that. Between Axis and pigs, it would be a great place to stay a few times a year.

 

A few acres, maybe a camper and the dirt bikes just for smiles and giggles. Sounds like a good time.

 

There's bass fishing pretty close too...and chiggers.

 

Not sure what's my preference when it comes to large mouth. Rubber worm on the bottom or top water action. I think I might still have a bottle of chigg-away (with DEET) that was issued to me a the CIF. Just stop by Bliss on the way. They're the official CRC these days.

I had to laugh at my son. He had chigger bites on his legs from their last trip to the field. I only laughed because I went through the same thing years back.

 

I see them dead on the hwy. with a river near they’re near.

Here's a couple close up pics of the Distributor hold down stud , you can see there's not much room to oversize for a helicoil . also this hole must be open into the underside of the intake as oil is wicking up the threads of the stud

I checked the stud once again and it's finger tight but has slight side to side movement , it won't loosen "unthread" by hand

I've had issues with this distributor hold down stud since putting this intake on in 2010 . and this last couple months been noticing oil leaking from there but always thought it was a bad distributor base plate gasket

I wonder if that boss were the stud is threaded possibly be cracked ????

Im going to stop by Pettis Racing Engines tomorrow and ask if they can repair this and also at the same time bead blast the intake and make it look new again

It's going to be a PITA to remove the intake as I used Permatex " Right Stuff" 1 min gasket maker . The China Walls have a thick bead and will probably need a pry bar to remove the intake

Never used a stud.mine was always a bolt
For a stud it needs to be bottomed out or use a stud with a center head.
You will have to inspect it when you remove it.

 

Yep going to check it out before taking it to Pettis Racing Engines to be repaired

Any tips on removing an aluminum intake after using permatex right stuff on the China Walls ???

 

and a gas can and an ax and saw and second battery and compressor and...other stuff
