Mine is the same way. Louder and noticeable at a wider range of speeds after long drives. Who knows.

Anyone know if T-SB-0023-18 could potentially address this?

    Sure you don’t mean T-SB-0013-18?

    See first post.

Otherwise please attach the new one!

Negative. This one is from April. It's also extremely generic as far as describing sound and vibration (it doesn't, just notes it), and the kicker is that the axle flange diameter has to be out of spec. On mine, it was.

Interesting. You don’t have a pdf do you?

Maybe google will turn something up. I’ll try.

    Thanks

I don't, but I can try tomorrow. I didn't mention the rear howl during my visit yesterday, the tech discovered the TSB when he was investigating some braking issues I was having. I made a thread if you're interested but like I said it does not say anything about a howl. There's like 2 mentions of this TSB on TW, that's it.

Thanks for posting so I don't have to :). Yeah, it probably has nothing to do with the howling. But just thought I'd share anyway.

Glad to help. The TSB we are all having done is supposed to be the fix, although it works for some, not for others, and not completely for anyone. Mine is probably 90% better and I can live with that.

Do I have the only 2018 TRD Sport that has this whine? I’ve looked at every post and noticed one other 2018 (SR5) owner that has mentioned the whine.

I noticed the noise the day after I brought it home. Only have 1,200 miles on the odometer.

I had a 2018 sport loaner the other day and it was dead silent, for comparison. Was so nice. My 2017 SR5 has whine.

Got mine fixed. Whine is finally gone. Third attempt by the dealer to order the correct parts and now all is well.

Thanks for the comparison. Right now it’s just noise, I’ll see how it goes until my 1st Oil change. Right now it’s not enough for me to worry about.

There are a few of us on here with 2018’s and the whine. I’ve actually had members with 2018’s reach out to me about the whine ha About the only thing to do for you is get your dealer to document it. Mine was loud so I did the TSB myself. Much better but still there over a 4mph range. Hard to hear now with the windows down at least.

I have a 2018 Double Cab Long Bed 4x4 SR5 with the whine. My dealer identified it, and documented it and sent a DSR to Toyota. Their response thus far is that it's a "Normal Condition" I'm taking it to a friend today who is a Tech at a different Toyota Dealer, He's gonna have a look at it. If he agrees with me too, He's gonna order me to parts with his Discount :) and I'm going to do the TSB myself.

T-SB-0023-18, while I didn't expect it to, did not take care of the whine on my truck. Mine is at practically all speeds when feathering throttle, not just the narrow range others are reporting. Is there a TSB out there that covers the SR5?

No TSB for the SR5. I had my Toyota Tech friend drive mine yesterday. His response...I've never heard anything like that before in my life. I'm getting my case info from my dealer and my friend is taking over my complaint

I get it at 15-17, 30-35, 53-64 and 70-74 mph. 53-64 is the loudest by far though
