You guys are about 20 mins away from me. Some nice twisty roads north of ya. Beautiful country and a hoot to drive, not all of them are paved

Wut? They still offer automatic transmissions in these trucks? Ridiculous!!!

Not sure of 18 MY trims, but I'd be reluctant to believe that you can only get 1 configuration in MT ONLY (read DCSB is only available in MT) It's usually the other way around. Us MTs are the read headed step-children who act retarded so that we're left alone...but we're tolerated and we appreciate that. Sadly, it will come to an end.

they did some weird shit if I remember right there was a point where the only way you can get a DCLB off road was with auto any MT was only SB. Now its just SB only for off road doesn't matter what trans.

I haven't checked toyota website but ya pretty sure the automatic sport was a DCLB

    off road is better anyways

and btw i wasn't kidding Minden is passable stock as is Ardbeg.
When we did a run in October we had a few stock trucks do the whole south trail, took us almost 13 hours but hey we did it all 36km of it.

Minden when @Norilsk @tacoma16 and I ran it with my buddy in a jeep we only got about a 1/3 of the way and that was because I was nervous first time out with the truck but it is possible with maybe minor rocker panel scuffs if you odnt have sliders.

BUT they are a bit more peaceful to pass if you have some mods. even as little as skids and sliders with a 265 70 17/265 75 16 (32") All Terrain. Just need to go slow and pck the right lines. We were slow as fuck because of me and we've all been there and its fine to be that guy.

ALTHOUGH i would say Ardbeg is actually better for this since you can screw around in the open areas pretty much driving in circles trying different things vs Minden its only one way in and out so the further you go the longer it is to get out and if its going slow for you, you wont get to do the whole trail.

When we did the 1/3 of it, it was 6 hours in and out, meanwhile a few weeks ago myself and 3 others ran the whole thing in 5.5 hours including stopping for a lunch at the end.

Bummer, can you get leather and a sunroof in the TRD offroad? Seems like its only optional on the Limited and Sport.

I'm torn between wanting the sport just for the scoop, optional leather and sunroof + when I mod it I won't have to de-chrome everything like if I got the limited, but I really want the short bed! Looks like I may be pulling the trigger on a limited, now to decide on black or blue

The short bed in the sport trim only comes with the manual transmission in Canada. To the best of my knowledge, it has been that way since the start of the 3d gen line-up in 2016.

Go with whichever has the best deal. If it’s the sport but you want stuff that the limited has see how much those would cost and go from there. I got a limited, not cause I wanted all the bells and whistles but cause the price wouldn’t be beat anywhere.
End of the day it’s your truck and you can do whatever you want to it, but also on however much you want to spend
