I hear yeah. Well if you do end up buying the whole kit, I'll buy the leaf springs bushings off of ya. I need to replace mine eventually.

I recently put on new tires & replaced coilovers & UCA/ball joints so i needed an alignment right away but I'll need another one in a month or so. Not sure if there's a Firestone in your area but they got that lifetime alignment dealio & there's a $20 off coupon right now. Their policy is 1 alignment every 6months or 6K mi for the life of the vehicle as long as you own it. I went to Sears & got the 1yr alignment package, unlimited for 1 yr with no time or mileage restrictions.

Is the carrier bearing pretty easy to replace, like do you need any special tools? Looking to replace mine soon but never done one before.

Yup definitely gotta replace mine, rubber's cracked & there's excessive play.

Don't you love it when you find parts you forgot you had? Especially when they're already on the truck.

Totally forgot I had a CB drop bracket.

I would say an impact gun, there’s a very specific way the Toyota FSM wants you to torque the stake nut and it helps a lot to use an impact gun.

Not a problem. I used to work at a performance shop so I've got plenty of tools. Got a 60g air compressor at home, even have a lathe & a mill so I'm good. Was just wondering of there was some specialty tool that was needed but doesn't look like it. Took a look at that link above & it looks really easy.

Yeah I probably won't even bother taking out the torque wrench. Impact wrench will do just fine for me.

Some people say you need a three prong puller to remove the carrier bearing but mine just slid off.

Dido. I just did mine. I had a 3 arm puller ready. Didnt touch it. The bearing slid right off. I marked everything and just restaked the nut with a punch and ball ping. Eliminated my "wobble/shake" at 65/70 mph.20180609_142239.jpg

Just out of curiosity, can you describe the shake... did you feel it in the seat of your pants, steering wheel. Was it bad enough to make you slow down or could you deal with it

Lots of good info in that link/write-up. I've got at least a 1/2" of play in mine upto an inch once I push on it. Haven't really noticed any noise or U Joint clunking for the matter either.

Seeing a big range of prices also... ~$55 partsgeek to $150 as mentioned.

So is there or is there not a grease fitting in it? I didn't shine a light into mine today... but in this video (from the link) it sure as heck looks like there is one ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtBHKHGa8Fo

Nice. I've never had this drive train shake/wobble that people speak of but maybe it's because I have a CB drop bracket? But I never noticed any shake before having the drop bracket either when lifted. For me the CB drop bracket eliminated the drivshaft yoke clunking though.

Earlier I said mine has excessive play but really I don't think it does. I know it's supposed to have a bit of play due to the rubber. I've got 215K mi & basically I'm only going to replace it cause the rubber is cracked on mine.

Damn these things are expensive now. In the tutorial thread it said $147 from Partznet, now they're $180 & some places are selling them for over $200. Well aftermarket ones are dirt cheap. Thanks to ebay can still get em for just under $150. Just bought one for $146.

Ordered a new throttle body assembly, it'll go on the supercharger and the S/C will go from my '99 4runner to my 03 taco.
