Stock again. Tepui RTT Voodoo rack
Has anyone tried to mount a Yakima front loader upright bike mount or similar bike mount with the Voodoo Rack? I have the Voodoo rack with fork thru=axle but I was curious if anyone has made brackets to support a bike rack that does not require you to remove the front tire. More importantly if you have tried this and it failed let me know!

I know these racks are primarily used for offroading/overlanding and are typically stacked with camping gear and a RTT. But i would love to know if/how people are mouthing skis to the MAX Modular rack?

Hey KB Voodoo, do you have a solution where you could mount a flat rack to the top of your full-height max-modular system where the flat rack on top would extend over the cab? I've attached an example picture to help illustrate what I'm referring to. So in this picture, instead of the hard shell, I'd use your max-modular full-height solution instead.

    @KB Voodoo

I'm on the hunt for a rack for my 16 Tacoma. I have the Bak Industries Revolver x2 roll up cover. Using the brackets, will your rack be compatible?

You won't find a bed rack that works with that cover. Your best bet is to sell it and get a compatible cover.

Not sure if this was asked. For the people with shortbed that used the long bed rack, anyone mounted bed stiffeners.

    I had some concerns
    1) flexing the sides of the truck bed or wiggling the kbvoodoo rack to get the bed stiffener in place
    2) Tiny bolt holding both the bed rack and the bed stiffeners

    Pictures for reference

Btw, that would be cool to have a KBvoodoo long bed rack that extends to bed stiffeners. Maybe once piece that's sold separately:thumbsup:. Would probably only work for shortbeds using the long bed racks.

Literally have this thing in my cart. Waiting for payday.
What do you guys prefer for a 06 double cab short bed.
    Tall or medium height rack??
I'd like tall so I can maybe fit some pit bikes underneath or a mountain bike over my tail gate.
But thinking of MPG and wind and possibly branches snacking my tent.
@kbvoodoo what's the height of the tall rack from bottom of bed.

Havent seen a huge change in my mpg...or any wind noise out of my tall rack. Love it so far. I got the tall to fit my dogs comfortably...and also still hall things around.

Prob not what your looking for but I have had great success. I hauled my bike with this setup over some pretty rugged terrain and had zero issues. The bike sits solid on the rack, does not sway like the racks that keep the front tire on. When the trail gets tight I turn the handle bars so they don't get caught up. I guess it depends on what your doing. If you plan on doing anything off the road then stay away from racks that keep the front tire on. They will not hold your bike well enough or the rack itself will break. A few months back I took my father who is a avid biker into the deep backcountry of Canyonlands maze district. he drove his jeep with a modified Thule T2 rack on his rear bumper. As soon as the trail get rough his bike had wiggled enough that the rear skewer came out somehow and the rack itself was starting to fail at the arm. I don't have many pictures but if your interested i would be glad to snap a few more detailed pictures

Great info, I try to stay on forest service roads here in NC on my way to trail heads. These roads, most of the time, do not even require 4wd. I am interested how you mounted that to your rack though. That style would give me peace of mind when making long trips!
Thanks for posting, awesome set up.

Didn’t do anything crazy. Spare nuts, bolts, and washers sitting around. Have two of these Thule trays from a previous vehicle. Used KBVooDoo bike trays minus the rear wheel holder. I lost the back strap on the Thule tray so I use a titanstrap instead that holds stronger

How much height do the tonneau cover adapter brackets add to the bedrack?

I guess I would week it instead of overlapping and bolting it on.
How is it working for you?

Has anyone moUnited rotopax to their mid height rack? If so do you have pictures and the size of rotopax? Looking at trying to do it, but want to make sure they fit reasonably
