mostly. there's conversion kits out there.

 

No you have to switch out your ECU and wiring but it'll all match up well enough that it looks and functions like stock.

 

i still need to get a test mule engine to see how well the 5vz responds to 3vz-fe cams. i have the cams but im not throwing them in the new engine just yet..

 

Oh my god... this is exactly what I was imagining when I wanted to put the E320 body on a rock crawler frame.

 

That's a good use for the SC430, it was a fugly Lexus model

Yeah the 3UZ is a good engine, basically a 1UZ with a bit more pep and newer engine management logic and sensors (no more cam driven dizzys haha) but was fugly nonetheless and rather cramped interior wise too.

 

Random as hell, but I have spent hours and hours looking at every Toyota and Lexus steering wheel with the correct airbag charge that would fit our trucks. The SC430 is the only one with audio controls, and the 3 spoke design. All the other ones are the ugly Camry-looking ones.

 

i just had an sc400 a few days ago.. damn thing sounded like a 4 cylinder because of a dead coil... guy paid to fix it... ran like a top with a new coil and 340k miles... love those little 1uzs

 

I want one, I love the SC400/SC300/Soarer booty and to have a little V8 coupe would be neat

 

i wouldnt mind a sc400. but every one ive seen is rough.. i mean really rough. This one was an absolute mess

 

Yeah, they are pretty toasty where I live too, but there is one for a grand right down the street that supposedly just needs a radiator. I could be tempted to play with a 1UZ and fix the interior if that's all it needed

theyre fun. but they all are money pits now... being over 20 years old they are starting to show their age... parts arnt cheap because of the supras having the same shit

 

one like that around here would easily sell for 3 grand.. probably wouldnt be a bad buy.

 

I own a 93 80 series and 96 Taco haha, money pit is my middle name

 

i own one money pit... and its the damn taco. My corolla with over 700k doesn't ever need jack and my Avalon hasn't cost me a dime yet
