Good morning, when's the backyard christening party?

So, I finally finished the back ramp this weekend. Needed to do it in a huge push because I've got family coming next week and we apparently need to return the back patio to a user-friendly mode (I trashed it making the ramp). Good news is that now my folk's dachshund can go up and down to the yard without injuring his own wienie.

 

Looks good.
More important question. Will the dogs be smart enough to use it?

 

Yes and no. They're smart, but stubborn. I need to put in barriers to keep them from using the stairs until they get used to it. I might also have to add another lower railing because the smaller pup can squeeze through when she tries. That's what I get trying to make it match the desk stairs.

Lucy's back is still healing, and we're doing physical therapy with her to get her strength back. Once she's stronger we'll start her on up the ramp.

Went out to the Bastrop Trails yesterday with a friend in his new ZR2 Colorado (he works for GM ). Had a great time as always. Most of it was dry as a bone but the back trails that are shaded by the pine trees had a decent amount of water on them. Nothing like earlier this year when we all went so clean up of the rig's was rather simple.

@Texoma - Lauren's 4Runner rode and drove fantastic with the Dobinson springs on the trails. She could really tell a difference. This weekend we're going to load it down with all of our gear to see how it drives before our trip to Colorado in a few weeks and go back out to Bastrop. I'll send you some pictures as that's gonna be the true test behind these springs.

 

I’m just wishing and dreaming for the return of an ice age... this heat shit is really wearing me out.

 

So glad I work inside I hate this heat it’s so oppressive. Had to wait till almost 9pm to water the yard. That’s my dang bed time.

 

He'll yeah, I'd be excited to see hoe it handles the load now.

 

I love the heat. I'll work all day in it. It's the Sun beating down on me that beats me up, but with a good hat n long sleeves, sun ain't shit.

Cooling off it’s pouring rain here.

 

Not with that surface - it's a recycled rubber commercial floor mat. I had to buy snips to cut it. It's not going anywhere, rain, shine, snow, whatever. Great all-around traction. Much better than the astroturf I had originally planned to use.

 

I'm the same way. Spent yesterday afternoon/evening working in the yard and doing house stuff and once you break a sweat it actually felt pretty good out especially with the breeze we had. I could do without the humidity though

 

I work in a meat locker so the heat is quite nice when I leave work. Just for about 2 minutes, then I have to turn on the A/C.
