I can't even get my wife to use the treadmill if I'm in the weight room at home.

 

Maybe you smell like eggs when you work out?

 

I had an AGM battery get a dead short in one of the cells. It was a nightmare to diagnose. It would show 13.2 volts and even cycle the fuel pump but when you asked for all the cranking amps it wouldn't even click.

 

I do sweat rather profusely, not gonna lie.

Then again she is the type who gets motivated for 2 weeks and that's it.

 

No corrosion that I saw, or could see. And no physical shock either... no bumpy roads or wheeling on the way to daycare.

 

I had windows tinted at Tint King and they were excellent. The owner was accessible, really nice guy, and he did the work himself. I though the price was very reasonable too. They have three grades, varying in price I went with the middle grade. Very happy.

 

My battery is 9 years old and has yet to do that..and I run a huge stereo off of it.

 

Weird... Autozone said if I bring it back I get $5 back, and they diagnose it. Going to do that after work, after getting my son from daycare, since I have to return the tools they let me borrow.

 

Might be what happened to mine...

Since you already spent the $$, it was definitely something wrong with the battery.

 

Definitely was, I think. Just weird how it happened because it hadn't shown signs of anything being wrong. Maybe be stopped and not even turned on for 4 days might have "helped" it shit the bed.

 

Weird. How old was it when that happened? The AGMs I've owned have always gone bad really slowly, but haven't lasted any longer than the standard plate batteries so I stopped buying them

 

My buddy's factory battery just went like a month ago. Drove the truck to work, home from work, and then went to go out after dinner and the battery was dead

 

I bet you could start a Tacoma with a lawn tractor battery if you had to. I suspect the jumper cables were the limiting factor--too small, can't carry enough current to start a truck that was totally dead.

I'd be a little surprised if the battery failed. A friend has my old 27F Tacoma battery in his old Sierra plow truck. It's around 7 years old now and apparently had no trouble starting the truck in -10 weather last winter. I traded the truck with a 24F battery out of a 2010 Tacoma and it was doing fine. Traded my NorthStar with a friend before I let the truck go.

Flukes happen. My first NorthStar gave up within a month. Lost a cell, I think. Voltage would sit around 11.5 and would barely start the truck. Happened with no warning.

My F-150 battery is surprisingly an AGM battery from the factory.

 

Who knows at this point. All I know is that with the new battery it started right up.

 

It wasn't that old, probably 2 years. That was the strangest part. And I keep them maintained really well in the off season. Just a bad battery. Suppose it could have been a result of my wheelie addiction.

Physical battery size doesn't matter, they're all 12v systems. Your FIL's car battery would have done the trick if it was just a dead battery. I've used my truck several times to jump start my motorcycles over the years.

That said, if it fired up the truck fine in the morning, you drove and then you got absolutely nothing, like not even a slow turn over or clicks, absolutely nothing, then I doubt the battery was your issue. I agree with what Noel said, you either have one hell of a fluke with your current battery or maybe a terminal was loose or corroded where just changing the battery did the trick.

Did you do the one in Billerica? I just had my 250 tinted there, they are great to deal with. They did my last 4 trucks (one in Albany, NY through their sister company).
