Ah perfect I was hoping you'd say something like that. I'd much rather go from the top. Did you put anything on the bolts itself on in the threaded holes? I was thinking about using some ptfe paste or tape there too

not a bad idea... i put excess rtv over the hole so the bolt would take some down with it

I had clear marine rtv laying around so i used that around the base of the spacer and the bolt. then took black silicone around the spacer to fill the gap outside

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I used some thread seal tape on all of the bolts. Works like a charm.

When I did mine(the second time), I pulled the headliner down and dropped the side curtain airbags during install to not mess anything up and to make sure I got all the metal shavings out. I put silicone around the riv-nut in the drain channel, around the base of the round spacer, on the threads of the bolts and from the under side from the inside of the cab. Sealed that whole thing up pretty damn good. Have not had any leaks at all. On my last truck though, the metal shavings caused rust, I didn't seal too well and had leaks. I also noticed a reduction in wind noise when I added the silicone from underneath. It reduced whistling quite a bit. Hope that helps.

Glad to hear from you dude! I did get all the metal shavings out now which is good... I really don't want to pull that headliner down (I have no idea how). I forgot I had a riv-nut stripped out on both sides... so I'm sure that's where the majority of the leaking is. I will reseal everything and fill those stripped out nuts. I'm also gonna put silicone in the riv-nuts and on the bolts to carry it down. Now I just need to run to an autoparts store I guess. There was no RTV at the hardware store oddly enough, just normal silicone.

Great build man. Hoping once I acquire more money, I can start the first step which is good suspension and tires. Good luck on whatever's left for your build which doesn't seem like much.

Well.....not sure if that can happen. I think a lot of welding would have to take place haha. That or just throw a box in the bed and call it a day.

Whats the life like owning a crew cab. Bet no one bothers asking for rides. People I swear. They see a truck, "hey can you help me move stuff from my house this weekend"? Then they see the 4 doors and ask if them and their friends can get a ride. Alu Cab for bed with a fridge in the back seats and game over for them.

Ok so, my Ram had a headlight out so I decided to retrofit them. Figured I'd take my time and just drive the taco...
    941EC348-CBFA-4E17-AF68-D9F0813933CE.jpg
Then last night once again my passenger side floorboard was full of water, so I freaked out and pulled the taco into the other garage! I figured it had to be the A-pillar holes for the snorkel mount since I never siliconed them.
    7D98434D-C924-4D3B-A2AA-4844D4788E39.jpg
Upon removing my snorkel all the studs threaded out of the snorkel itself because the nuts were seized.... Then I see that under the hood my intake tube was disconnected from the snorkel elbow! I was like wtf?! I've been getting absolute shit mileage in this thing lately... like 10.5 cruising flat a 75.... so hopefully that's the contributor. Here's the issue though.... I dont understand how this thing worked before! Literally the intake tube only seats into the snorkel elbow maybe 1/4"... and it was a bitch lining them up so it kept popping out! I siliconed the joint and I pushed it as far in as I could... you can see below that the factory bolt holes for the intake tube no longer line up... I'm kinda at a loss and I'm just going to run it like this for a bit. It kept popping out every time I tried to bolt it down.

    826C9078-F6B1-429F-94AB-93E2BE606480.jpg
Ok so I got the a piller mount siliconed with some new screws... sweet. Not that I can remount the thing without new studs for the snorkel body itself
    B410D670-6BE7-410A-A42A-F6763D9EF56C.jpg
THEN I SEE THIS SHIT. I think this has to be the culprit for my leak. My whole pinch weld is split...
    759FE403-0796-4144-9055-BA33DE192FAE.jpg
    4B206009-6ED5-483A-8EF9-BEFB5D5F9493.jpg
So here's my question... what should I use to reseal this? The factory stuff reminds me of liquid nail or something.... Thoughts?

So anyways there's my sunday night story of rendering both my vehicles useless
