Yeah I was lucky to get two weekends in a row to get my sua swap done. Truck definitely can't still be my dd when I tackle the cage. But was with a shot. I'll definitely be asking people for input and help when I get going on it though. And gonna need to brush up on my notching skills.

Just curious why the tabs on the shoulder straps? I used tabs for my lap belt and sub belt but just used wrap around on the shoulders like the left side of this pic. It just gives a little more room vs having a tab there. Even if you have tabbed belts you can just remove the tab and wrap around the tube instead. Just make sure you look up how to wrap them, there is a specific way to go through that buckle

I don’t know why they came with them. PRP just sent them that way. I’m fine with welding tabs on the tube. There’s plenty of room for them. I don’t want to relocate the center tube higher either so the tabs will help with bringing up the strap so it will sit better. If I remove the tabs I would have to weld another tube higher to get the straps high enough. That center tube runs about lower shoulder blade right now.

I’ve been wanting to ask you a question about my B pillar tubes coming from roof to center. I have a bend in them over head. I’m thinking its a bad idea having a bend in them. What would you think of me running a straight tube from center of the B pillar up to roof and then running a gusset tube from the tube to center of roof?

Not sure what you mean, the diagonals for B pillar support? Straight is always better than bent, thats why full tube chassis are mostly all straight tubes. But building inside a truck takes a compromise of straight as possible and making everything fit and/or look good

@Cr250jumper never mind. I was overthinking it.

Been working a lot of hrs at work lately. Wed-Friday was 14 day’s and Saturday was 8 but the wife wanted to go out. It’s all good though any overtime goes to shock savings right now.

On to what I got done. I started the C pillar today. This pipe master has helped a lot if I remember that I have it. I’m pretty happy with the end result for today. Everything fit nice and tight. I had to use the mallet a lot. Pic time.

Looking awesome. I'd use a little more duct tape to hold your cage together.

Looking at my graph I drew up. I measured where the shocks are going to go. Going off the measurements off my 2.5 Front coilovers 4.45” I’m going to have to tub the cab of the truck in the back for sure at least an inch or so. I’ll be able to rub it from the outside so it will wait until after I cycle the rear so I know how much to cut and plate back in.

Oh it’s how I notched it not how it’s bent. I bent it toward the tube in the lower part of the windshield. My notches where a little off and I rotated the best I could up toward the roof. I feel you about getting it as close to the roof as possible but it comes down to how much steel your willing to throw away and how bad the angle really is and if you can live with it. Looking at it from back to front it seems really low. But looking at it from the side it lines up pretty good. Looks can be deceiving in photos. Here’s a better angle. To give you an idea that one tube cost me 40.00 since that’s the 2nd one I made that one section now costed me 80.00 if I tried again now where talking 120.00. Goes up quick.
